Gian from Seven Seconds or Mess broke down the comparative defensive efforts in the Knicks / Celtics game this past Tuesday. While its from a Knick point of view, this is a fantastic video and I recommend all watch it.

agree completely
Unfortunately Gian is a Knicks fan.
If anyone has the ability and desire to do this sort of analysis on Celticsblog, send me an email (green17 at celticsblog.com)

knicks fan?
While Gian does appear to wish the ‘bockers well, I’m not so sure he’s a fan given his commentary. Perhaps his interest in well-played basketball might sway him our way? I’d love to see more breakdowns like that as well.

Yes, I'm a Knicks fan
But bad teams deserve criticism. Good teams do, too. But bad teams especially.

Excellent analysis. It is all about help defense. The Celtics get it, the Knicks do not.

Why New York and Boston are great sports towns
I simply a Celtics fan, neither from Boston or New York. But as much as the rivalry between the cities are soooo deep, it is because they are the most knowledgeable fans. Both cities expect their teams to be play at a certain standard, win or lose.

Consistant effort
It’s easier said than done, but I do think all most teams need to do is to make a consistant effort on D. This clip illustrates that Crawford makes NO effort on multiple plays. That’s unacceptable even by D’Antoni’s standards. Hence, he spent a good portion of that game on the bench.

Hey
Glad you all like it. I could’ve done it for Boston last year cause I lived there for five years (BC grad) but I moved back to NY over the summer.
I did do something for Celtics fans before I left though. 2008 Finals highlight video:
