Pierce May Finish Career In Greece?
"I feel very comfortable with your country. There are lots of Greeks here in Boston. Same in California, when I grew up. In fact one tutor at our team, Pete (Chrisafidis) is Greek. Because of that and the fact that I love to travel, I wouldn’t reject playing in Greece, after the end of my contract with the Celtics. Finish my carrier there. Get on pension. Or if don’t want me, to go somewhere else in Europe." - Examiner

clearly the translation is a bit off
“carrier” instead of “career” for example

As long as it’s not with another NBA team.

Reyquila
Paul wants to finish his “carrier” in Greece? What did he mean?

Think about it...
From Paul’s perspective he could probably make way more there than he can here, at the end of his contract. He’d probably still be a top tier player in Greece when he’s no longer one here. He could extend his basketball career, and make more money, without worrying about tarnishing his legacy in the NBA. By not tarnishing his legacy he won’t pull something like a Gary Payton and go from “The Glove” to “The Mitten”.
I have know problem with it becuase I wouldn’t have to see him suit up against us.
