Tyrus Thomas
I am coming over from Blazers edge & had a really gross thought. You have KG, the best PF in the game... A great, hard arse coach in Doc Rivers who last year was able to turn everyone on the team into team first players.
Right now Tyrus Thomas is falling out of favor with Del Negro in Chicago. I was thinking a smart move for you guys would be to buy Thomas cheap & train him under KG to be his eventual successor. KG would demand that he gives effort, as would Doc. It really seems like a perfect situation in my mind. I am aware, you have Leon Powe, but what if he leaves to free agency? Am I crazy or what? Let me hear it Celts.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Yes!
I completely agree and have been wondering all season why nobody has mentioned this. Tyrus Thomas was projected to be a fantastic player by now and still has all the raw, untrained athleticism that he had when drafted so highly. Many predicted this season to be a breakout one for young Thomas, but he simply has not been given the chance. When he has played significant minutes, his statistics usually show a great improvement, but (unexplicably, in my opinion), he doesn’t seem to be liked by Del Negro and hardly sees the court. Garnett has proven to be an amazing tutor for all players, and someone with the same energy as him such as Thomas would benefit immensely. Not to mention he is best friends with Big Baby, who, as we all know, seems to be struggling a bit lately. Ty Thomas should be pursued.
Ty's got a ton of potential...
But unless Chicago is willing to give him to us for the po-po platter of Scal, Pruitt, and Powe or BBD I don’t see how a deal could be made. He would be someone that the C’s should definitely take a look at in free agency (sounds like he won’t be back in Chi-town from what you’re saying) for something around the MLE.
Can we trade Patrick O'Bryant for him?
the “KG will motivate him plan” didn’t work for POB, but if it doesn’t cost us much, then I would take a flier on Tyrus

Being from Chicago, I get to see enough Bulls games, and while Thomas has enormous potential, he just doesn’t seem to produce like he should. His work ethic has recently been called into question.
I think, for his sake, Boston would be a GREAT situation for him. He’d get to experience time with a successful team (the Bulls are going nowhere), and benefit from playing with KG. Make an offer, we’ll take it!

I tried it to include JR Giddens but the Bulls would be over the cap.

offer giddens, baby, a future pick for tyrus and noah… that might work. fills the need for a long sf / athletic pf and a 7 foot hyper center…
am obviously wishful thinking… ;)
Hmmm...
That would be nice.

crazhy
you ppl are out of your motherloving minds like really? do you honestly think kg is like going to be his butt buddy and make sure he works on the right things and watches film and improve his basketball iq and instincts? you cant teach wat kg has man… if that were the case, what makes patrick o’bryant, a former 9th overall pick, unable to learn from kg too, honestly get your foots out of your mouths man yyall dont know a damn thing
Hmmm...
Won’t hurt to dream once in a while. When the C’s won the championship in ‘86, they had the #2 overall pick in the draft that same year. C’s fans were happy then and who would have thought, although Len Bias didn’t get a chance to wear a Celtic uniform.
When Gerald Henderson stole the ball from Worthy, C’s fans were thinking that a miracle would happen even before that happened.
It won’t hurt to dream once in a while.
