Utah Flash @ Idaho Stampede 9PM EST 12/13

For anyone interested (and since there's no Celtics game tonight), the Flash are playing the Stampede tonight at 9PM EST. Idaho is coming off a 2-game winning streak with a 5-1 record while Utah is sitting at 2-4 with a 2-game losing streak, with the last loss coming against Dakota by 3 points.

JR's season averages: 19.8/7.5/2.5 with 1.7 SPG and 2.0 BPG to go along with 2.5 TOs and a healthy 2.0 PF. JR has basically been dominating the league, but he along with Bill could try to involve the team more and get their teammates more open looks. Bill Walker's season averages: 22.2/4.7/1.2 with 1.3 SPG 1.0 BPG 3.67 TOs and a 4 PF average. As Bill's strengths seem to lie in his scoring, he will hopefully will be able to work more on his D and ball-handling in addition to his court vision.

seems the coach has been calling for fewer shots for both Bill and JR. JR’s been getting fewer minutes compared to the OT game against Austin.. I bet that’s a part of why they’re out of sync with the team.

the Flash’s PG skills seem suspect too.. lost control of the ball and not really a playmaker, more of a combo guard.

JR pulled out with about 5 mins remaining in the 3rd Bill with 7 minutes, pulled during the 1st.

68-64 Idaho, Utah closed a 14-point lead without JR and Bill. Wonder how much it has to do with home/away vs. earlier issues vs. not getting enough looks.

other thing: Utah seems to have no interior D whatsoever. If someone was willing to take some charges it would dramatically change this game.

Ehm..

Can anyone explain to me why Bill Walker took 0 shots? and JR only took 4?

Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It`s being able to take it as well as dish it out. That`s the only way you`re going to get respect from the players

Do you know if there’s an option to watch games after they have been completed online? ala’ what you can do with League Pass? (i’ve got International League Pass)

There’s an archives site but it’s limited in what it has Utah-wise probably because it’s a relatively new expansion team.

Both Giddens and Walker were in the starting line up, but neither of them played like starters.

Bill Walker left the game in the first quarter with an injury. He went down holding his neck around the three point line. He returned to the bench in the second quarter with an ice pack on his neck and never got back in.

Giddens looked to pass all night. He had one nice drive in the second half that he finished with a lay up, but that was the only glimpse of offense he showed.

Update on Walker...

Bill only played 7+ minutes in this game and hit his head pretty hard. I got in touch with him and he said he is fine, but that he had been pretty dizzy. We’ll be doing a weekly interview with Bill on CSL and the first of which airs tonight. However, we did the interview earlier this week before last night’s game…
