C's Talking Less
Interesting side note about the Celtics. They have a reputation for being trash talkers, but it sounds like Doc has convinced them to tone it down some. From the Herald:
Be it the Knicks’ Quentin Richardson, the Wizards’ DeShawn Stevenson or the Hawks’ Al Horford and the ever-game Pachulia, trash-talking the champs has become a league pastime.
That’s difficult considering that Rivers has finally convinced his own players that talk is cheap and unnecessary.
“It figures,” the coach said. “We’re talking less, but the talk hasn’t stopped.”

Trash
As much as I enjoy it, trash talk seems meaningless now. Back in the days when players stuck with a team for their entire careers and played each other more, I guess it made sense.
Now, so many players change addresses over the summer and during the season, it just seems silly.
That said, I’m totally entertained by it. Players can never truly escape the playground talk…
KG Still Talks Trash
KG is still talking trash, but he’s talking to himself. I love this crazy man. I used to not love him when he played for another team.
Trash talking's a two-edged sword.
Trash talking can be a distraction to the team doing it. And sometimes the guy most distracted is only the teammate of the guy doing most of it. So like Doc, I’d rather the Celtics hold it down. But regardless, if Doc has been able to get the Celtics to trash talk significantly less, then it’s another indication of his talents as a coach (ones that were a lot harder to spot before Garnett arrived).
