Big Baby Hospitalized After Car Accident

ESPN reports:

Glen "Big Baby" Davis was hospitalized Sunday with whiplash and a concussion after being involved in a traffic accident on his way to the Celtics-Knicks game.

Davis was expected to remain hospitalized overnight, according to team spokesman Jeff Twiss. The accident on the Massachusetts Turnpike happened around 2:30 p.m.

No further details of the accident were immediately available, although snow fell throughout the day Sunday, making for hazardous driving conditions.

Davis, in his second season out of LSU, was taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. Celtic president of basketball operations Danny Ainge went to the hospital to be with Davis.

Center Patrick O'Bryant replaced Davis on the active roster against the Knicks, with Boston trying to tie a team record with its 18th consecutive victory.

Let's all wish BBD a speedy recovery.  Also, please remember to drive carefully tonight; the weather in New England is atrocious.

Good to hear.

Also hope others who might be traveling on the roads around here are careful too. Everything has turned to ice with the temperature drop. Be careful driving home y’all.

GWS Baby, we’ll need you soon enough.

Thank God he's okay.

Even people who grow up in the north find driving in the snow challenging.

LSU DUDE

If you’re reading this blog, you’re getting better. I’ve had three concussions and know that if it’s a bad one, you can’t read for a while. Stay cool and get back for the Lakers.

Best of wishes, Baby!

Get PP to pick you up for games in the snow. He’s used to driving in it! :-)

Team Transportation?!

Is there a reason that the team wouldn’t send out some transportation options for these guys on a day like today? Most these guys haven’t driven in this stuff much. I’d make it a team rule. Put out 8-10 “tanks” out there that can get them there safely. Young inexperienced guys on those roads doesn’t seem wise. Get well soon. BBD!

never good...

having been injured in a car accident myself, it is never good news. if he has a concussion and whiplash the muscle trauma might cause him to miss some games.

these things dont heal quickly. good luck to him. i wish him the best.
