That's More Like It

According to the Kings announcers, Sacramento set a record for fewest Field Goals (19) in a game. I'd say the Celtics defense showed up today.
- The C's hit the gas early and broke the Kings spirit. This was over in the 2nd quarter, if not earlier.
- The most notable thing to happen was Patrick O'Bryant got extended minutes in the garbage 4th quarter. He had moments where he actually looked like a pro basketball player. So there's that.
- The Scal-a-brin-e chants have officially hit the road. First Washington, now Sacramento.
- Not much else to comment on here. Nice to get back on track.
- The 45 point win harkens back to the win by that same total vs. the Knicks last year.

Poor Scal
I really hope he’s not just lying when he says the chants don’t bother him…
God bless and good night!

9 to 5
It’s great to see how Rondo and KG have really gotten in sync. I love the alley-oops…9 to 5!
I would also like to see Pruitt and POB work their tails off in order to get themselves into the games more.

Nice to see Perkins
and weird to see that Eddie had the most shot attempts…extremly efficient nights from ray and kg

I eagerly await
the LA Times’ assessment of where we rank on the all-time list of 28-4 teams.

WANT TO -two words ; -)
It’s early and I’m typing with one hand. The other one is holding my son. He needs to learn the Celtic ways!

Not to be contrarian
Because the Celtic’s played quality defense. But the proof is not the Kings set a franchise record for fewest FG’s in a game. The proof is in the season-wide stats that measure defense effectively, and the Celtics are at the top, or near the top, in all of them
The kings were so putrid tonight, it’s probably offensive to the word putrid itself. So with that in mind I say this: The kings were so awful; it was a waste of loss & outrage @ GSW to get the C’s fired up. The Celtics could have beaten the Kings starters with their deep bench tonight. That’s a pretty sorry statement.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on

big baby davis useless!!!!!!!!
i think they should choose patrick o’bryant over bbd now bcos look at the points POB was only in it for like 5mins and he managed to score 5 points and get rebound unlike BBD . POB can also shoot the mid jumper and block some shots unlike BBD. Gabe pruitt saw some good minutes and look at the score of the bench ! he should always b used as back up point guard look at house’s numbers bcoz he went back to
SG. BBD and SCALS minutes should go to gabe pruitt and POB c the game sal got chants from the kings fans that shows you hes just for fun no one takes him seriously.

Given that Scal theorizing,
I wonder if we should chant for LBJ and Kobe when they come to the Garden…maybe convince Mike Brown and Phil that those two fellas won’t be taken seriously and should be limited to garbage time? :-D, just messing with you.
I do think it’s worth being wary of taking too much stock in how back-of-the-bench players look at the end of a 40-point game. Some stock, sure…but I’m not ready to leapfrog BBD with POB in the rotation by any stretch of the imagination.

Too bad these comments don’t have a TP, Steve, both for the LBJ and Kobe comments and overrating garbage time against one of the worst teams in the league.
The day Paddy gets minutes over Baby is the day Doc needs a brain scan.

were we that good or they that bad? more the latter. it’s a long grind and these guys got their xmas present late, a kings no show. portland will be the real test of where we stand right now. even a loss with the right kind of effort will suffice.

blowout
If you have to have a blowout, it is nice to be on the winning end of it. I hate blowouts. Growing grass is more interesting. (Only the chat room made the time pass, LOL.) IMO blowouts have very little significance except for being another win, and the start of a new streak and that made me happy.

Agreed, nazzbo — a win against the Blazers on Tuesday will confirm the Cs are truly back on track, and that all of the figgy pudding has been digested!

Portland game is going to be tough
They are probably more obsessed with us than anyone, I dont know why, but they really want to beat us. i excpect Portland to probably win a game that goes down to the wire… Celtics are tired right now and even openly admitting it

Clinic
The Celtics made a clinic video last nite. What was great is that there was no garbage time. They finished the right way.

I’m officially apathetic on BBD. I think Powe should be seeing a lot more time with KP and KG. Let’s face it Doc’s bench rotations have been a factor in 3/4 losses (not Indy though.) I guess he’s trying to prove a point, but I think Powe, TA, and House (or Pruitt) would be better served playing as part of the rotation (meaning on the floor with 2, 3, or 4 starters) rather than as part of a second unit with Scal and BBD.
The C’s can afford the drop off from KG or KP to Powe in terms of team defense, because he’s a good PER player (i.e. measurable stats as opposed to rotations, etc.) But they cannot afford the drop off in talent when BBD gets minutes at Powe’s expense. Either way – the C’s should have moved one of these guys before the season and forced Doc’s hand, I would be happy to see BBD moved with Scal in any trade for Joe Smith – rather than one of the young guys.
Tony Allen remains excessively frustrating, but at least he’s productive if kept away from crunch time.
Pierce has seemed out of rhythm all year – I think Rondo’s ball dominance while generally a good thing has had something to do with this (Ray, KG, and Perk all thrive on having Rondo setup their offense, Pierce hasn’t seemed to start clicking yet.) Once Doc or PP figure this out, the Celtics will really take off.
