Paul Pierce Article In New S.I.

There is a very well written, and interesting article about The Captain in the new SI.  I strongly recommend taking the time to read it.  It goes into detail about Paul's family life, what it means to win in today's NBA, and how he has changed over the years.

I also love what George Karl had to say about Pierce during the 2nd half of Game 4.  At least Karl had the guts to say it...

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Did he finally admit that Marbury was the cancer that killed that world championships team and not pierce?

I was wondering if anyone else had read it yet. First off, I was just impressed by the shear length of it. I thought it was a really interesting article, that really did not pass judgment on Pierce, good or bad. It mentioned its faults, particularly earlier in his career, but also mentioned the traits that have made him one of the best basketball players in the world.

I think the summary it came to was same thing long-time, die-hard Celtics have come to over the past year: Pierce has matured, and is continuing to mature, as man and as a basketball player. And unlike so many players that came along in the post-Jordan era, he’s been able to do that with the same team and, most importantly, win a championship.
