The Truth Revealed

Just finished reading the new SI article on Paul Pierce.  Great story, very well written.  I learned a few things and was reminded about a few more things I knew already.  I'm very happy for Paul and I am very proud of him (I feel like I've watched him grow up with me).  Here's one quote:

“I’ve always been the Rodney Dangerfield of this game,” he says. “Maybe it was meant to be that way, but that always drove me. If somebody said, ‘You’re going to be the Number 1 pick, you’re going to have a great team around you all these years’? It would’ve been too easy.”

Red's Army had several other quotes earlier this week, but the article is worth the read.

See the whole thing here.

Stunned about what George Karl said about Paul Pierces performance in the 2nd half of game 4 in the finals

Fantastic article. Thanks for providing the link.

Nice to hear Paul Pierce being vindicated not only to the entire franchise and its long time followers, but also to his former doubters and tormentors (Karl, etc.).

The passing of the championship trophy from Havlicek to Pierce really symbolizes that Pierce graduated from being just another good player in Celtic history to now being regarded as one of the franchise’s best ever. Long time coming, but at least he got there.

Great Article

Hope he and his dad get the closure they’re both looking for.

I think it’s one of the best celtics articles I’ve read in a long time…it makes me like Paul Pierce even more. He’s been here for more than 10 years now and he has evolved so much, in the same way everybody has…Sometimes i take for granted Paul in a Celtics uniform, and i forget how blessed we are to have had him for so long playing for us night in, night out…and the best is still to come!

Thanks for the link Jeff!

No wonder Pierce played badly on Wednesday night. He’s received the SI kiss of death. Please, no more articles about the Celtics. I wan’t to see Kobe on every SI cover between now and July 15, 2009.

that was a great article and very revealing about pierce. sometimes what drives a boy or a man is what he doesn’t have and secretly covets -his father. show him you’re good paul.
