Stern Has Need For Sheed (Replaces KG)
The Herald has this release from the league:
NEW YORK, Feb. 10, 2008 – Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace has been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace injured East All-Star Kevin Garnett (abdominal muscle strain) of the Boston Celtics for the 2008 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 17 in New Orleans.
Wallace will be making his fourth NBA All-Star appearance. East All-Star head coach Doc Rivers will determine which player on his roster will replace Garnett in the starting line-up.

Good Choice
Sheed was in my selections for the All-Star reserves so I’m happy he got his place in the end

I have a problem with Celtics having the best record and have only 1 all star but the Piston’s get 3? When Pistons had 4 all stars when they had the best record.

Perhaps they felt the East needed a big man to replace KG. It matters little to me since I don’t ever watch the all-star game.

Why does anybody care whether it’s a big man or a guard when the game is so ridiculously meaningless?

Haha. Stern picked Wallace? C’mon! You can imagine the conversation… " Are you SURE we don’t have any other big men in the East?!!#$@"

rasheed is really one amazing player and deserves the nod. he plays the same position, ergo the choice. let ray rest. i know to be selected is a big honor to the players, but it sure is one hoaky game.
