Report: C's Out of the Running For Barry
The hot word today is that it's a two-team race for Brent Barry's services. And the Celtics aren't one of those teams.
Says the Arizona Republic's Paul Coro:
Barry only whittled his candidate list to San Antonio and Phoenix, leaving them to wait for an answer Wednesday.
Each team is offering a veteran's minimum contract that includes the 2008-09 season, but the Spurs are believed to be sweetening the pot with a third year, on top of the emotional pull of teammates he has played with since 2004.
Barry also had been considering Boston, Houston and Dallas. He cleared waivers Tuesday morning.
Back to hoping for P.J. Brown and Sam Cassell we Celts fans go.

“Back to hoping for P.J. Brown and Sam Cassell we Celts fans go.” Thanks for the update Steve but that last sentence sounds like you form sentences just like Yoda speaks.
Speaking of Star Wars my guess is that “Golllum Cassell” would have to spend a few days “getting his drink on” at the Star Wars bar before he could report to the C’s and that’s if the cheapest owner in the NBA buys him out from the Clippers Death Star.
;D
good, as if we didn’t have enough people heaving up the three ball…we need more of an inside prescence, dare i say even moreso than cassell or any other backup PG at this point.
that said, dont get me wrong, i want both PJ AND cassell haha

God bless us!…I have yet to see any quotes used in referencing this assumption…It’s nice that Arizona’s sending a smoke screen to the other teams…I haven’t seen where Barry has said that at all; and I’ll bet that our signing PJ Brown has Barry thinking…“Wow!, Erin, Boston’s nice in the Springtime”…and, for that matter, Sudden Sam’s probably battering Sterling as I write…Hah!
