Minnesota Fans Want To Cheer KG

TrueHoop posts some emails from Minnesota fans that just want to see KG make the trip (even to sit on the sidelines) so they can give him a standing O.  Gotta hand it to 'Sota fans, they know how to love on their players.  Here's one email:

Unless flying on an airplane is going to risk further injury, you'd have to have a heart of stone not to bring him. ... Every Wolves fan I know has been looking forward to this all year. Heck, I'm as big of a "support-the-Wolves-even-though-KG-is-not-around-anymore" person as there is around here, and even I have been looking forward to this as the highlight of the year.

Not to mention the fact that the entire ticket-selling strategy of the Wolves organization this year has been based around getting increased ticket sales overall thanks to this game. The KG homecoming game "sold out" well before the season started because they blocked off a large number of tickets for it making them only available as part of a package with other games in three or five or ten game packs, thereby forcing people to shell out a ton of extra money to see other games they didn't want to see in the first place if they wanted any shot at getting to see KG play.

Yeah, I was kind of shocked when Doc said he might not make the trip. First, I’m of the mentality that a player should always travel with the team if he’s physically capable of doing so; it promotes unity. Secondly, even if the team would normally have him stay home on a relatively pointless flight, this game is huge for the Minnesota fans. I’m sure it would be tough on KG being there and not being able to play, but I think the team should have him make the trip.

I think I’ve made it pretty clear where I stand on this issue. Friday may very well be the end of CelticBlog’s ‘Big Ticket’ because I might kill myself if KG skips the trip. If that doesn’t do it, a missed game due to injury on Feb. 20 against the Warriors (which I have $200 sixth row tickets to), certainly will.

I agree, I think he should make the trip. Not because i’m going to be there but for the minnesota fans that are dying to see KG play in the building again. It’s almost like a farwell game, thanks for all your hard work over the last 12 years, now go win a championship!
