David Stern Is Smiling

My latest article ran in the Boston Metro today. Here's a quote:

Both the Lakers and Celtics have the pieces in place to at least compete deep into the playoffs for the next three or four years. It’s quite possible that the two teams could meet once again in the NBA Finals and restore the rivalry to its former glory. Somewhere, David Stern is smiling.

Well,I’m of the opinion that David Stern hates the Celtics and helped engineer the Gasol trade,after Danny double crossed him and pulled off the KG and Ray Allen trades…Stern fixed the lottery twice in the last 10 years,to screw Boston….so,the only way Stern will be smiling is if his Golden Boy LeBron or the New-Look Lakers can keep the Larry O’Brien trophy away from Beantown.

Add the 2002 Eastern Conference finals to your list of conspiracy examples. It could have been Celtics/Lakers in 02. Wasn’t there a lot of shady reffing in that series?

I think there was a little more Toine getting abused by KMart in that series (if memory serves) and a good dose of backdoor cuts that beat our blitzing defense time after time

Couldn’t agree more Jeff, there were a lot of reasons we couldn’t and shouldn’t have beaten the Nets that year. (02, seems like a lifetime ago.) I just like to feed a good conspiracy theory. David Stern is just my personal cigarette smoking man.
