is josh smith trying to eat kg’s sweatband?
Good physical game that was pretty damn exciting for the get go. Our fowards were great tonight. Perk is playing solid ball!

Look at Tony Allen’s Stat line for this game. He’s the only Celtic with a minus PER.

46-12….better get some help in here quick. I didn’t mind Perk and the extra dribble tonight as he showed such fervor (yes fervor). Glen Davis played with gusto as well (yes gusto I say!). I am not sure how Atlanta held on at the start of the second half when PP and Ray Allen took control. There were moments in which our ball movement was something special to watch. KG with the best pass/play of the season.
I am not so sure why PJ should be ANYTHING but insurance and towel waver the way Po(we) and BBD hustle and play. We gain nothing by playing him a great deal IMO.
I guess at 6:01 PM tomorrow, Smilin Saviour Sam shows up looking for his third ring. Here I sit, all alone, in my worry chair with the Jim Jones purple kool aid mixing kit.
Mixing one too many ingredients in our proverbial soup that seems to taste pretty good already makes feel a bit pukish. drink up and hold on.
that was a good game. doc played perk tonite and did not waste his energy on the bench. way to go perk. i have been doubtful about him, but he was on fire 2 games in a row. a very quiet but effective game for ray. nothing quiet about kg and pp. very good lead-in game to get ready for detroit. the hawks would be dangerous if they played some defense.
I can just see it now. The Cs have just defeated the Lakers in game 7 of the NBA finals. The confetti is falling and the champagne is flowing. All around Boston people are turning into the Joker because they just can’t seem to be able to wipe the smile off of their faces.
And then there’s Brick…all along, hunched over his computer typing furiously: “That was an awful performance. If they play that way next year, there’s no way they’ll repeat!” Oh, I forgot…“and Danny better fire Doc!”
Master Po, I am alright with the additions of PJ and Sam if they are used correctly. We were so thin at PG and with our bigs that an injury during the playoffs would be devestating. In addition to the starters, our bench is now House, Posey, TA, Leon, Baby, PJ, and Sam. House now is a 2 guard, hopefully that helps his shooting percentage. PJ helps in matchups with taller 4’s and 5’s. What needs to be determined is who are the 5 guys you want on the court in the closing minutes of a tight game? This is where good coaching comes in, and will be Doc’s moment of truth.

What is great about this team is the relationship amongst the players and the players with the coach. I saw Rondo take a really bad shot early on. It was a quick one and didn’t seem to make any sense. I read today where he and Doc got it going on the bench until KG forced himself in between them. After the game, no big deal. I also heard where Charlotte dropped Jeff McInnis because he had a round with their coach. That might not be the reason he was let go, but those things do happen. On some teams Rondo would sit for a week. It’s just that Doc remembers what it was like as a player and accepts these things as normal occurrences. Some people forget what it was like in the past when they reach higher positions.
Jeff McInnis is a knucklehead who has been at odds with eery coach he’s played for. That’s why he’s been with so many teams. When guys have been with 5-6 teams they are usually marginal players (e.g. Kevin Ollie) or knuckleheads (McInnis, Gooden).
As for the Celtics, when they play well, I say so. But you aren’t going to beat good teams turning the ball over 10 times in the first half, as the Celtics did last night. And with the exception of BBD, the bench played very poorly in the second quarter. If Pierce hadn’t come out hot in Q3 they would have lost the game.
They will be ready for Detroit. KG was very solid and so was Pierce. Big Baby was very active on the boards. Bring on Maxiel. They did againast Atlanta what good teams are expected to do – didn’t play their best, careless with passes, but cranked up the D and O when necessary to ge tthe W. You can’t be ass kickers every game.
I share Master Po’s hesitation about Sam-I-Am. Eddie House was off yesterday but has been a very solid contributor and core member of the attitude the team brings. I am skeptical of more Sam/less Eddie.
