We Talkn' Bout Practice?
Twenty-two days after Sam Cassell signed with the Celtics he is scheduled to have his first full-fledged practice tomorrow.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers said before tonight’s game with the Sixers that he plans to practice three times this week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday all between home games). He said he will still look to give guys rest, but may opt for the off-day workouts in the short term and lessen the game-day morning shootarounds to ensure sufficient down time.

well roy that is nice you think its a little harsh. I am glad you don’t think its a lot harsh.
Doc did lose the game because the substitution pattern was absurd and he blew the 4th q AGAIN. AGAIN. Think we can afford that? What do you think the chances are that Doc blows a game we must win in the next two months? I think 80/20
they have busted their chops all season and some may need a rest- but you need to keep your rotations intact. they say we need vets to help us with the playoffs grind— those that have been there and know. well doc has been there and he better start showing that he knows. his team has been off kilter for 2 games. that’s not a lot you say. i say, you can’t turn it on and off in sports and get away with it. how do you think the redsox would play with no batting or fielding practice for 2-3 weeks- or the pats or bruins- or any major league team. how many of the top echelon coaches do you know who don’t have any practices for 1/2 a month at the end of a season or any time, especially when they’re trying to integrate new players?
Doc is like Beeker (Sesame Street) right now. He’s experimenting with lineups. He has to see more details as to what he has and what he has to fix. BBD is still making mistakes. PJ will lean on Shaq, if necessary, but I don’t see any spark yet. Cassell needs to fit in. TA is a half step slow. still. The Cassell/House backcourt needs chemistry. This is tuning up. He wants all of the 12 cylinders firing correctly.
