Cry Bibby And Hawks Overmatched

Bibby and the Hawks are just no match for this Celtics team.  It isn't even close.

100% right. Couple thoughts from the game:

Bibby is done. He is not even a GOOD PG anymore, let alone the all-star that he was. (I did think he was a bit overrated before though)

Every time Rondo knocks down that outside jumper he adds more and more dollar signs to his next contract. I was sure he would be just fine this year, but not at this level. He makes Bibby look real bad out there.

Sam still shoots the ball way too much. He reverted back to the regular season Sam right there. He is fortunate a couple dropped because he could have hurt us in that stretch. 9 shots in 12 minutes! Not including the tenth he got fouled on that doesn’t show. What a ball hog! kind of tough to be too angry when you blow them out, but down the stretch that can cost us a game.

Davis just isn’t any better right now than he was at the first of the year. He makes a couple decent plays and a lot of stupid ones. He has taken over Perk’s role of moving picks at the top of the key. Way too many minutes for BBD tonight. I doubt he’ll get many in later rounds.

KG looked tired tonight. He was front rimming those shots which is a good indication. He sure found other ways to help out though. Loved that emotion at the end. Doc should have never had him in that late though. Could have been bad.

I sure hope PP doesn’t hurt real bad when he wakes up tomorrow. I have a bad back and feel pretty good playing until the next day. Then I suffer for a few games.

Last thought. Horford is starting to show a bit of a whiny ’’witch’’ side to him. He is quickly becoming un-likeable!

they sure can play d against an overmatched team. what i like is they don’t let up. if cleveland wins their series, who the heck covers lebron? pp alone can’t do it. i think we’re seeing the last games of mike woodson. the hawks just don’t look cohesive.

I was at the game…poor Bibby..booed every time he touched the ball…of course there were the usual chants of “Bibby Sucks” ..late in the game “Rondo’s better” chants had taken over..but even when Bibby was on the bench his name still reverberated as the crowd asked “where is Bibby?”..the funny part is that those chants will be heard in ATL as thousands of green fans invade the Peach of a state..Might as well enjoy it now..it’ll much tougher in the next round…

Bibby got exactly what was coming 2 him, I laughed everytime he touched the ball – & was roundly booed. It was great. His comments smack of desperation, since the Hawks don’t have any answers for the C’s superior brand of hoops.

I am a little concerned that they might try to resort to more physical play, ala the PP foul in the 1st… maybe to either start a fight & get some ejections, or worse to hurt someone so they can’t hurt the Hawks on the court. Just play ball, Hawks. And admit that you guys are getting waxed by a better team.

guys, i’m sorry. the PP foul in the first was not flagrant. period. stop bringing that up

in fact posey’s non-flagrant foul late in the game was worse.

This is a link to Bob Ryan’s Globe article today. It is a great description of this team.

casCELTIC,

I wouldnt go so far as saying Posey’s was worse. He got no head contact, just arm and he actually knocked the ball out of his hands before the arm to arm contact. That was a good play. PP got smacked in the face and chest by the first guy and then the second guy landed on his chest and head. exactly how was Posey’s worse? If Posey’s was flagrant then the one on PP should have been also, that is the point trying to be made. The contact and the landing were both worse on the PP play….go check the tape.
