Catching Up With Rondo
Rondo is back to blogging. Here's a clip:
As far as the playoffs go, I live for big games. I love the atmosphere...fans at The Garden are the best fans ever. They bring soo much energy, and I just feed off of it. I'm glad we are 2-0 right now in our series, and I'm just trying to stay focused on the goal-the championship. It was crazy because the first day that the playoffs started for us, I was in the urgent care center with my daughter. She was sick, and being the dedicated father that I am, I went to the urgent care center with her to make sure she was ok. She's fine now, and I'm glad about that. Also while he was here, me and my homie, Josh Smith, got to hang out. Even though we play for opposing teams, and it is the playoffs, we still are coo. He came over my house Tuesday, and we just hung out all day. It was nice to catch up with him.
My quick thoughts:
- Very glad to hear that his daughter is ok. Some things are just more important than basketball.
- Funny to hear that he hangs out with Josh Smith. Hey, if Wilt and Russell can hang out and Larry and Magic can be best friends, it is all good.
- I'm going to start using the word "coo" instead of "cool" from now on. You can play too. Everyone coo with that?

I remember that Rondo and Smith played at Oak Hill together and were very good friends. I think I remember hearing that even though Smith went straight to the league, Rondo was considered the better high school player at the time…. probably because there is no way a high schooler could’ve stayed with him.
Please don’t start with the “coo” thing, it sucks.
Yeah, Rondo and Smith played together, and I’m pretty sure they became best friends. Something about having different roomates and after meeting each other they quickly went through the steps to become roomates or something.

Rondo hadn’t posted at Yardbarker for such a looong time, I was wondering what was up. Turns out he was just being really focused on his basketball, and his daughter was ill as well.
I think Ray Allen has been an exceptional mentor for Rondo (the focus thing brings that up for me), and Garnett is likely the same for Perk. That’s all just pure speculation of course. ;D
I’m suprised Rondo didn’t explain why his friend Josh Smith rolled over Pierce’s face . . . but Cassell did the hard foul on Rondo and they are happy team-mates . . . perhaps it’s just basketball, except when LeBron James is the one fouled . . . then the play becomes subject to legal review. :o
