So Far, Not So Good

Just a train wreck of a first half. Can't figure out why this team is so bad on the road in the playoffs. Need a huge 3rd quarter to get back in this.

Update: Well, the 3rd quarter wasn't big. In fact, the Celtics have only shaved 3 points off from the deficit built in the first quarter.

It’s the defense.

At home, they have their arms up and the close out.

On the road, hands are down and they can’t close out.

The Celtics are a Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde team _ good at home, bad on the road.

If they continue to play this way … I don’t think they will win the championship. The playoff teams out west are playing more consistent basketball.

Not to panic, but I think it may be time to try something like mixing up the starting lineup for the next game on the road. Have Perk and Ray Allen come off the bench. This is 4 terrible road games in a row. We could certainly stand to get off to a better start.

I’ve watched all the playoff games and nearly all the regular season games this (and many prior) year. Why don’t Pierce and Garnett get the same “star calls” as other superstars in the league?

Well, it’s not the Big 3 anymore has Ray Allen is MIA. Plus Pierce is having a tough being guarded by James. So it’s being left to KG as Rondo and Perk aren’t usually going to explode offensively. Our defense can carry us at home but on the road when the home team is hyped by the crowd, our level of intensity defensively hasn’t risen to match it.

rondo needs to set the tone. at lest eddie had a few assists but he is also in slump. we need one of our scorers to get going. ray allen stunk again but the biggest thing was lack of ball movement and weak defense.
