Heck Of A Game Big Fella

I don't want to let this get lost with the hand wringing over the 4th quarter and the elation over Ray Allen's big night.
Perkins played the game of his life in a very critical game. He was a beast. He was fantastic.
He finished with 18 points, 16 rebounds (5 offensive), 2 steals, and 2 blocks. But what doesn't show up in the box score was the great defense he played throughout and the emotional lift he gave the team.
Well done big man. Well done indeed.

I just wish he’d play like this, or at least SOMEWHAT like this, every game.
It’s frustrating watching him get foul calls for overaggressive defense and moving screens game after game.
Knowing he has the capability to put up these kind of numbers and have games like these makes it even more frustrating.
Good players step up when it counts. Perk’s numbers the last 3 games:
Points Per Game: 13.3 @ 75% shooting (18 for 24)!
Rebounds Per Game: 10.6
Steals Per Game: 1
Blocks Per Game: 1
Turnover Per Game: 1.3
You couldn’t have picked a better time to heat up Perk. Awesome performance tonight!

lots of great plays, many sloppy ones. some sloppies because detroit is a good team and keeps the pressure up, some because of inexperience and some are just ouchers. doc said we live and die with the starters and they all came thru.we all know they have to learn how to beat the press better- it’s a flaw that is being exposed- stop with the floating passes already, rondo. yeah, ray. next game is going to be a bone cruncher- bring your football pads.
I have always known that Perk could play like this. I couldn’t be happier for the big guy! I love Perk!!!

[translation]
‘He got a little bit of, I think, hyperextended in there on the rebound [when he tried to rip Ray Allen’s face off] on that one defensive sequence [wrestling match] that we had," Saunders said. “He was great [cheap and dirty] again tonight, especially in the last three quarters. Hopefully he’s going to be ready [to be cheap and dirty] to go for us.”
Hamilton leads the Pistons in the series with 22.2 points per game.
