Joe Johnson was a good warm up for LeBron. He’s nowhere near as good but he plays a similar style.
Great size at 6-7 240lbs, excellent ballhandler, excellent passer, Joe’s a much better shooter, good penetrator, very good finisher in traffic, very good decision maker. A player who’s capable of running his team’s offense. Very effective with the ball in his hands and on the perimeter going one-on-one.
Doc got to try out a bunch of different defensive strategies on Joe, most of which he’ll probably try on LeBron. That’s a good thing.
Good warm up for defending LeBron.
Cavaliers fan and blogger here. Just wanted to say I’m looking forward to this series. I know the Cavs definitely have an uphill battle to fight to get past Boston, but I think it will be a close, well-fought battle. Good luck.

Master Po,
The (eh-hem) ‘hit’ on ‘Zsa Zsa’ was both prim and prop…
I felt the same about the game as you going in…but had a friend over.
We watched it, along with my 4 year old son, wife, and our new 9 day old baby girl.
Great day all around (even if she only slept about 2 hours last night).
Go green.

My same sentiments. The Hawks have nothing to be ashamed of. They played their hearts out and took it to a game 7 when no one thought they even win a game.
It’s time to turn our attention to Cleveland and 2 points I want to add
1.) Will Kevin Garnett show up to play in the 4th quarter and take control of this team like he should
2.) Will Doc stick to a rotation and not play P.J. Brown and others to please the Veterans.
I want to see Consistency from the coaching staff. Let Leon Powe be the first man off the Bench. Let James Posey come in and Sam Cassell and stick to them and not screw around with rotations.
I’m not sure that Doc will stick with PJ and Powe. Glen Davis was their best backup big against Cleveland this year. He was the only big man on the team to consistently keep Big Z out of the paint, Ilgauskas had some problems dealing with Davis’ girth and post defense. It’s a good matchup for Glen and he’s proven himself against this team.
We’ll see what happens but I don’t think it’s an open and shut case for any of the big men in this series.
next—we have to worry about how the refs call fouls for breathing on lebron. if we thought all those blocking fouls called on us against atlanta were unfair—holy cow—get ready for lebronitis. he plays like a bull in a china shop. get ready mr. posey—we need you real bad in this series. paul- stop with the tt.s and put your energy into good spacing and penetrating. kg —attack the boards-this team,ie cleveland can rebound.
I’d like to see Big Baby get some burn in this series. We could use some help on the offensive glass. KG is what he is. He is not Lebron or Kobe and is not going to go one on one to the rim consistently in the fourth quarter to try and win the game. His game is a consistently efficient all around game played at a high level which is enough for me. If you want a go-to guy for the fourth, Pierce needs to take care of that. Also, I was a teensy bit nervous about game seven but I had to watch live, always have. Po, do you find out the score first, then watch the tape????
It is really hard to say how this will go seeing as the first three games were virtually against a different team! The last game we handled them pretty easily for most of the game and they made a bit of a run at the end. If you look at the stats Powe played 10 min less than BBD but had only 1 less board and 4 more pts. They both had foul trouble for the minutes they were in there. All three of their bigs had foul trouble as well though. PP had a rough game and Ray Allen was on fire. KG was solid. Delonte will naturally want to come up big for them as will Wally. This should be fun!
