Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Game 5 - Open Game Thread

As strong as Boston has looked at points I still have no idea what to expect from this team on a game-to-game basis. This could be the last game of the 2008 season or not. Meanwhile, Kendrick Perkins' status is still shaky and that same article spends a good deal of time talking about Kobe Bryant's confidence despite the 3-1 hole. I'm excited for this one. Go Celtics.

Lakers Bigs

Are beating the heck out of the Celtics right now. It hurts to lose both Perkins and now KG to fouls.

karma

It’s been bad luck when I’ve been on the game day thread…still some time left but this one looks to be heading back to Boston…it’s a shame to waste a big Pierce effort.

KG

Really needs to stay out of foul trouble Tuesday.

Rondo

has no business being on that court Tuesday.

Why Is That?

He’s played very well at home. Not so much on the road. You’re telling me you don’t want a guy who had 16 assists in game 2 playing at all in a possible deciding game? Sure, that sounds like a good idea.

Same guy, new name.

The Rondo Question

Agreed. He has been a different player home and away throughout the playoffs. If his ankle is fine I see no reason to keep him out. I like House and Cassell did some good things the other night but how many minutes is it reasonable to expect them to play. Rondo can do damage and he is the best defensive/rebounding option at the 1.

im quite suprised.........KG......coulda won the championship

and gotten rid of the “choke” factor all the same time…....but now….hes gonna keep hearing it….....and hopefully (if you are a boston fan) the C’s win game 6…....because lord knows i wouldnt want to face KOBE in a game 7…......anywhere….....period.

All good points

Tough loss. What can you say? KG was completely off and Pierce had one of his great performances. I am worried about Rondo’s disappearing act and the point guard situation in general. But I like the way they competed on the road. It wasn’t easy for the Lakers. I like Boston’s chances in game 6. As far as the game thread goes. There are a lot of Celtics blogs and forums. Tough market to break into. I’m sure some were very busy this evening. I also like to watch the game without necessarily hitting the computer up too much.

Celtics

Celtics are a very motivated group of players. They havent been able to reach such high stakes in a long 22 years, I believe that there deprivetion from championship tittle is going to influence extra hunger and drive to suceed. Boston has been waiting for this day for a long time, today is when we find out if they are champs or shumps….LETS GO BOSTON….
