Paul Pierce Finals MVP

Even David Stern called him The Truth. Now I've seen everything. And Pierce thanked the fans. Well done.

Pierce

I mentioned it in the game thread below, but I’d imagine #34 will be heading up to the rafters when Pierce’s career is finished.

It was a Good Debate

With his numbers heading into the season. Throw in the all around game and the Finals MVP I can’t see how it doesn’t happen.

Pierce and Employee #8

Best line of the night:

“I was two games away playing with Antoine Walker…and now you give me Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett? I think we can win a championship now.”

Poor Antoine

But very true. Meanwhile, KG’s bully analogy was fantastic.

1998 Draft

The 9 guys taken ahead of Paul Pierce:

1. Michael Olowakandi
2. Mike Bibby
3. Raef LaFrentz
4. Antawn Jamison
5. Vince Carter
6. RobertTraylor
7. Jason Williams
8. Larry Hughes
9. Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk is great but a little too soft for my taste. I’d take Pierce ahead of all those guys!

the 98 draft

That was one of my first posts on my old site. At the time I said I’d take Dirk. Of course Pierce then played offense and defense all year, raised his game and got a ring. Now it’s all Pierce.

My favorite part of the evening

Was when Boston fans booed David Stern. Second favorite was when LA didn’t win a ring. I can’t say I feel good about anything else though. KG’s postgame reactions with Michele Tafoya, kind of creeped me out. I’m happy for you guys though.

The KG thing

Anyone who has followed the C’s should have known that going to KG on the court was not the thing to do. I would have just waited on him until the meet the media thing. And the whole booing David Stern thing. It was one of those – is that really happening moments? that I kind of ignored.
