Rondo/Perk Invited To USA Select Team
This is a nice honor and a good opportunity for Rondo and Perk to rub shoulders with other quality players from around the league.
But USA Basketball also plans to invite Celtics guard Rajon Rondo and center Kendrick Perkins as well as ex-Celtic Al Jefferson to play on its select team that will scrimmage and practice against the national team in Las Vegas from July 21-24. The select team includes young NBA standouts who could be prospects for Team USA in the future.

haha
how are the 2007 Boston Celtics minus Paul Pierce a good workout for the Olympic team? They weren’t even a good workout for most NBA teams that year

I’d like to see Hulk rest the shoulder as well but if Rondo was to play it could raise his profile in the league even more than winning a championship and completely decimating the defenses of the NBA’s best teams for a full season on national TV could.
It’s good that they received the invitation either way.
One.

It is nice for the young players to get some recognition. However, which point guard on the Olympic team gets to guard
Rondo? That could be interesting. I hope Perk’s shoulder lets him play. If there is any question as to Perk’s health he should just rest the shoulder.

We can watch Al beat Howard and Boozer down the floor for nice
assists from Rondo!
