Buying this, putting it in a case, and hanging it up by my bar
I do wish Paul Pierce was somehow on the cover, although I did enjoy the Russell/KG story

I’m waiting for the Master Po interview. Absolutely beautiful.

Great, but that should be Paul on the cover. He best represents the turnaround as to where he came from and where he ended up. Plus, he was the finals MVP…
That said, I’m not complaining too much. Go KG! You deserve it! ;D

WTF??? First of all, I agree with IMAfan. Paul Pierce should be on the cover…Not KG.
Also, I am offended by the title below : How Danny Ainge revived a Great Franchise.
What???? The Franchise was revived in ‘02 officially when it was PIERCE AND TOINE making some noise in the postseason. Those two brought back Celtic Pride…Those two made the C’s and us Fans care again.
Danny Ainge destroyed a competitive playoff team that year he arrived and who knows what would’ve occured had he NOT been made the GM….I think another GM would’ve built around what already was there in both Pierce AND Toine and we’d already have gotten #17 way back then….
Garnett should’ve held out for Pierce to be on this cover. No brainer.

The Russell-KG story goes deeper than a story about a championship. It’s more personal in nature. KG has great respect for the Celtic tradition and who is more a part of that than Bill Russell. Unfortunately I didn’t hear the interviews on ESPN between the two, but all I had to see and hear was the embrace after game 6. KG is so respectful toward Bill Russell, as he should be. I can’t imagine a guy like Kobe to have an understanding of what Russ means to the Celtics and to Basketball.
it’s a great picture—period. sure pp is not in it. kg is the epitome of russell. as great as pp is- he is not a celtic big man. russell and kg both changed the celtics culture and made it a defensive team-first. cousy and sharman were great offensive players but the c’s were semi-good until russell walked in. red knew that and would know that about kg.
