Draft Night

Our NBA writer and general man on the street Steve W. is going to be in attendance at the draft tonight.  Steve will give me a shout with any inside info he has to report beginning around 7pm.  Think of it as an almost-live blog.   Unfortunately, everyone's favorite scream Stephen A. Smith won't be there so I cannot have Steve ask SAS for some cheetos

Starting at 9pm, CSL will take over and kick off their draft spectacular .

As always join us in the Chat Room for all the "oh man look at THAT suit" jokes and general revelry.  I'm sure we can also scare up a few remaining BEAT LA! chants too for those (like me) who miss live basketball.

And now for the rumors:

Send any other good tips to green17@celticsblog.com (with a link) and I'll add to the list as necessary.

Celtics should take Serge Ibaka, check him out on youtube. He is only 18 with alot of upside. Stash him away for a couple of years.

No wrenched guts or stress here! One benefit of the championship is that I’ll actually enjoy the draft this year. Let the other teams sweat, let them look for the missing piece, the savior!

And Steve W., glad you are our point man!

Excellent, the Nets will continue to stink.

Ibaka I read on SportsYahoo that his agent is telling teams to draft him in the 2nd round, as he is going to choose from 2 lucrative contracts that go through 2011-2012.

Ainge, as much as anyone, knows the value of accumlating chips. His selection for this year is unlikely to be of great value, but it certainly could be of some value. And down the road, we may all care a good deal about whether or not Ainge obtains a useful chip tonight.

yeah but we are really going to hate New Jersey in a few years. Unless of course their plan backfires and we have Ray off the books among other shenanigans and we sign LeBron. Some day LeBron will make a good replacement for PP and Ray;>)
