I love Bob Ryan pounding on Simmons. The Lakers of the 60s were great. I hate the way people discount the players of the past. Give Jerry West the body he had when he was 25 and he would light up the NBA today. Same with Elgin. Those guys had mad skills. It is just astounding that Russell and company were able to beat them in three game sevens. There really is no other rivaly like that where both teams were so good and so evenly matched and one team always managed to win. The only thing even close is the old Yankees Dodgers rivalry, but even the mighty Yankees managed to lose once in 1955.

Is there a Celtic Stuff Live show tonight ?

While Bryant is close to being the best player ever, it’s really hard to like a guy who so openly disrespected his teammates in the off season. That’s pretty hard to forget. And, despite his awesome play on the court, you can’t help but feel deep inside that a lot of his teammates aren’t going to hang out with him after the game. Winning heals a lot of wounds I suppose.

The Celtics will shut down Kobe, just like they shut down Lerbron.
