Paul Pierce on Mike and Mike
Thanks to reader esp4p3 for passing this segment along. Definitely worth a listen if you're a fan of the Celtics and Pierce. They did not get into the whole Las Vegas handcuffs incident but they addressed the "Kobe is not the best player in the world" Spanish interview. The Donnie Wahlberg part at the end was a bit much but it's always good to hear Ray Allen joking around given his incredibly serious ways. And yes, if you don't like the Celtics, you'll hate it. A lot.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Bonus Points
It was pretty much a soft interview but Mike did say KG was a bigger star than Pierce. And The Truth danced around the Kobe/Ray Allen rivalry. I’d bet he knows more than he let on.

Kobe vs. Ray
It’d be cool to know what that is really about.

Indeed
Even this article doesn’t definitively nail it down. Although I was intrigued by the following bit of information:
The war of words is nothing new for Bryant, who is verbally feuding with former teammate Shaquille O’Neal. As for Allen, he has received threats of violence from former teammates Glenn Robinson and Tim Thomas.
"I’ve had guys talk about me as a basketball player, and I’m OK with that," Allen said. "Whether I should be an All-Star or not or just other things. … So this latest thing with Kobe, well, that’s just funny. You know what it is, it’s childish."
Whoa, whoa. Robinson and Thomas threatened him with violence. New to me.

I think both Kobe and Ray are just competitive players that like to talk smack. Ray probably gets annoyed at how Kobe is a media darling (I get annoyed as well). It’s probably not much more than that.

Lebron better than Kobe?
I liked the part where PP said that Lebron was harder to guard than Kobe. Hmmm PP agrees with me, that Lebron is better than Kobe even though he didn’t say it outright. And Donnie Walhberg give Paul a lot of praise but I think he was right when he said that PP was the best player in the finals. Who can argue with that? A part of what makes Pierce so great is that he isn’t afraid of anyone and he has the attitude that he is the best player out there.

Pierce is not the best player in the league
But I can’t imagine any player going around admitting guys are better than him. That’s like saying his team will lose. Even when it’s pretty clear no one can admit to that. I’ve gone back and forth on the Kobe/LeBron thing. I thought Kobe had a better outside shot. But as that Celtics series showed it’s not good enough to carry his team against an elite defense. Either way LeBron is only tapping into what he’s going to be.
