Celtics Visit White House

The team's players, owners and coaches presented the president with a green Celtics jersey emblazoned with "43," a nod to Bush's standing as the 43rd president, and an autographed basketball. The team also said it would send a $100,000 check to the Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Ike.
Celtics fans, a few wearing Red Sox caps and many, like Vermont Sen. Pat Leahy, snapping photos with their cameras, packed the East Room.

Nazzbo, if you would decline to go to the nation’s capitol, to be honored on behalf of your sport by the duly elected President of our country, then that’s fine. Maybe you can’t imagine yourself being so honored, and perhaps for good reason. But if you also want to publicly insult the President as a clown, then I think you’re a fool.

Where’s Posey, House, Scalarbine, Big Baby, Cassell, and Pollard? I can undersand Posey since he signed with New Orleans, but what about the rest? I didn’t realize meeting with the President was optional.
Scals, BBD and Pollard were there: Links:http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1119284117/bctid1801288023 and http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1119284117/bctid1801288022.

For once, I think Georgie did well. I’ll leave it at that…

Supurb post, No Kidding.
It would be nice if the abject haters, for a fleeting moment, could enjoy the moment like the Celtics did. The President was gracious, humorous, and respectful. So were the Celtic’s players and management.
It’s like we have a bunch of Josh Howards as Celticsblog posters. Embarassing.
