Great game, great night...
…but let´s not get too excited.
We won against the Raptors (without JO) and the Nets, not the best teams in the league.
That said, it´s certainly a good feeling to see the C´s play like tonight.

Scal, Gabe, Baby all play very well
the rest have great mo-ments. big three solid. Our pal rajon plays the great upcoming pg harris even. its all good. plus the owner says we have a big coming and maybe more. FANTASTIC
hey so is it just me or does gabe look like a guy who becomes a solid starter or better at least in this league? he is smooth, confident, in the right place…..i hope we don’t trade him. worst case gerald henderson best case Jo Jo White

Celtics did what they ought to do against a not so good team.

Vince Carter is Pathetic
I remember watching an interview with Vince Carter after Lithuania nearly beat the USA in the 2000 Olympics. Carter refused to concede that the Lituanians had played a good game and was contempuous, snide and absolutely ungracious.
I fiew the rest of his career as payback for that interview. He deserves every missed shot. I hope he’s traded to the Cavs, because they will have zero chance at a ring with him on the team. No wonder they boo him in Toronto.

Carter
I was never a fan of his. But to be fair, he was hurt last nite (regardless of the injury during the game). He was questionable before the game. It kind of surprised me that he did come back to play after getting hurt during the game. Maybe being in the same building as Paul Pierce made him do it. I agree that Vince to the Cavs would be great for us.

Anybody who tanks for a trade and brags about it shouldn’t be in the league. Tank carter and his cousin should be playing in Iran.

That's the kind of win this team needed
Maybe it will help them to get their confidence back to where it was. I know the Nets are not good, but a 30-plus point win is a 30-plus point win. I did not see the game, but glad to see Walker get 12 minutes and go 3-4 from the field. Did he dress instead of Cassell? I also saw that Pierce was 2-9 at the half , yet ended up 7-14 and only missed one 3-pointer. Let’s beat them again in NJ and hope Perk is back for the game Monday night versus The Suns.

Perkins should take extra time to recuperate. They don’t need him right now, and in fact they have looked much better without him.
by Brickowski on Jan 14, 2009 10:49 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
They'll need Perk against Phoenix
But if he is not ready to go, he won’t play. Off topic, watching the Lakers versus the Spurs and they play absolutely NO defense.

nj is not a very good team but they are not a bad team either and the c’s have their mojo back. even better, wyc is saying we want to make a deal for a biggie.all hands on deck in this one and i do want to give scal some credit. he was all over the floor hustling productively on both ends. walker looked good and if he has an outside shot looks stronger than tony. and it’s good to see gabe out there every game- that is a big confidence builder.

Good win
They really brought the energy tonight and seemed to fire on all cylinders. It was also great to see the starters take the fourth quarter off and see Gabe, POB, and Bill Walker get some minutes.

Good news from this game
Pierce played 32 minutes, looked great, never tired – he’s back. Whatever was ailing him earlier seems fixed. Rondo actually took 3 jump shots, made 2 of them – great stuff, finally. Billy Walker looked great out there. If they can bench or just get rid of TA and have Billy step up, that could be a huge improvement.
Didn’t like what POB showed us tonight in his 6 minutes or so. Looked lost and brainless out there… airballed two jumpers and totally ignored a wide open Walker under the basket. (This may explain why Doc has not been giving him too many minutes.) And tho BBD had a good game, I still don’t see him as NBA material. But if the Cs can win it all AGAIN with Big Baby playing an active role… well, that will make the whole thing even more amazing.
Ok, so all they really need going forward is a big. (Pruitt looks fine as backup point guard.) Hope they find one for the end game.

Rondo & Davis Haters...
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
On a side note, is Bill Walker for real? I don’t care who we have to drop if it means adding a piece to this team, it cannot be this guy. Two minutes watching him is all anyone needs. He is legit.

Does Perk make our offense stagnant? (This is not a dig on him, I know we need him for defense)
He and KG may clog the lane too much and rondo cant shoot the jumper. Scal and BBD at least have some range (albeit in BBD’s case not quite there yet) and allow rondo to run around underneath the basket and charge to the hoop, either kicking it out or taking it himself. What we need is the outside shooting to really be working for us to be that amazing team. Otherwise, we’re in trouble on offense.

Rondo and KG's "thing"
You see those tip-ins more and more, and honestly, it just hit me that with Rondo’s jumper, this might actually be a good solution in some games. Throw the ball in the basket’s general direction, then let someone else finish it by tipping it in :’) Haha, way to go.

Glad see them back to their old selves
Of course these teams (Toronto and New Jersey) aren’t that great but it’s a good start. It was good to see Bill Walker playing out there and we could continue using him. Pierce was on fire in the second half and Rondo is back. Hope we do get a big and improve our team after the all star break.

A game to remember...
Last nights win in Boston was a game both the fans and the C’s should remember. The fans should remember the way it felt to be up big numbers and how great it was to see all our favorite young players play, and play well. Even POB got minutes, although he shot 2 air balls he still looked good on the Boards. The Celts should remember this game because of how intense on D they were, and how their team rotations flowed naturally, although some of that could have been NJ’s lake of an offense. They should also remember that great feeling of just playing the game they love, and let the rest go. We have harder days ahead, and this game, if the remember, will help get them through some close ones later. Doc remebrer how great Gabe and Bill looked and use them when needed please!

Why is everyone so high on Pruitt? Yes, he can hit an open shot and play some D, but he’s god-awful getting us into any type of half-court set. Even House is better at that, and this is saying something.

music to my ears
1st seed?..3rd seed???..who knows but the best part of last nites game was Wyc declaring that we will add 2 guys and money/tax will not deter him..sweet music because without help we are in trouble….somewhat

when did Wyc declare that we will add 2 guys? i can’t find anything about it in the Globe or Herald.
great news though!

Wyc's Comments
Came when he sat in with Mike and Tommy during the 2nd quarter. I don’t remember exactly what he said, but he did say something to the effect that we are “actively” looking to improve the team.

Scals
With consistent playing time he’s playing the way he was when we signed him several years ago. And he seems more relaxed and patient. He knows how to play and is an excellent defender, both man on man and team. As to the team in general, one thing we don’t seem to be doing well lately is taking charges. That was a huge part of our defense last year.

As some wag on the RealGM Nets forum quipped: “We got fried by Brian Scrambledeggs.”

We’re not taking charges because Doc refuses to play Leon significant minutes.

Right on True Gree and Dobbs
Scal is playing like the guy Danny thought he was getting. good reminder, True Green and Yes as Dobbs is right. Leon ust lead league in charges taken per min.

Walter McCarty
I cant believe he was at the game! Seems like quite a nice guy. Maybe we could get him out of retirement…

Waltah
Walter is a great guy and he and Tommy and their wives became good friends. The problem with Walter was Jim O’Brien, who took an undersized Center who, despite his size, played great defense with tremendous energy and made him into a three point shooter. This took away all the positives (inside energy) Walter brought to the team and made him an ineffective player.
