Perk Still Out
Rivers continues to preach patience with Perkins (left shoulder strain) and guard Tony Allen (right ankle strain).
“I would say Perk’s the closest to returning, and we’re going to have to make a decision (today) or (tomorrow),” Rivers said. “Right now with the way things are constituted, I just don’t see him playing (tomorrow). I think he does, so we’re going to have to have a little talk with him and Dr. (Brian) McKeon and Eddie (Lacerte, the trainer). I stay out of that part of it, but I want them to tell me he can play and be 100 percent.
“I’m from the school, with Perk at least, that until someone tells me differently, the longer he’s out the healthier he can become.”

Smart Move
Why put Perk in against Shaq when his shoulder isn’t sound? It’s a smart move to keep him out. You don’t want to bring him back against someone who is going to bang him like crazy and amplify the problem.
Scalabrine on Shaq
If Scal doesn’t foul out in 8 mins it is liable to be a good matchup. I can see Shaq banging his butt against Scal and then Scal draws charge. I can see Scal annoying the hell out of Shaq. And certainly Scal will beat him down the floor. Obviously Scal will need drop down help.
I agree with not throwing Perk’s shoulder against Shaq.
why aren't they doing the 1 day contract trick to bring in a big man?
it almost has to be that they have somene better lined up already that they feel is almost sure to come through.
10 day contract
We don’t have a roster spot. You can only have 15 players under contract, we’d need to wave someone to make room for a 10 day contract player.
