Steve Novak, 25 years old.
Nobody talk about this guy? He´s unbalivable, having the very first playing time of his carrer in last weeks. He´s shooting numbers are really impressive. I saw tonight Clips vs Blazers game and confirmed that this boy is a pure shooter, even with a lot of guys in front of him.
8 of hs las 10 games here:
29mins 3-53Pt 15pts
26mins 4-93Pt 14pts
12mins 3-33Pt 9pts
25mins 3-63Pt 18pts
24mins 4-53Pt 14pts
22mins 2-53Pt 10pts
22mins 3-43Pt 13pts
28mins 5-83Pt 21pts
Nice to see how he can manage to be alaways hot in few minutes he plays. And he hit all his freebies this season.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I thought about posting something about Novak a few times this year
1. We have several options to trade for him that work on the trade checker, inluding POB. so its realistic
2. If you are looking for a shooter that is his mo, but he is a one trick pony so far. Still he has always been a shooter even at Marquette.
3. He absolutely won’t help us with our need for a longer post player, despite his height
4. This should be thought of like making a move to get a young guy who might develop something like Scott Wedman. He isn’t really exactly what we need, BUT if Doc starts to use different combos, like he has recently, it might work. Something like: Rondo, House, Novak, Scal, and Baby in the game. PP and Ray get rest and you still have two very good floor spreaders and all of them move the ball well in that lineup. Also at the end of games where Rajon is struggling, the old House, Ray, PP, KG, Posey lineup becomes the new House, Ray, PP, Novak, KG lineup…4 very very good long shooters
5. Despite my previous comments, Novak is tall and looks much heavier than his previously rail thin self. Cliff Ray MIGHT be able to turn him into a reasonable defender down low
Thank you for the reply.
It was my first post, im from Portugal in Europe, and im the one of the biggest Celtics fanatic here and i come everyday to the blog. Now i decided i would like start posting because apart of being a Celtics focused, i alaways loved to study every stat and every guy that make sence posting in this league, bad or good, with few or more minutes doesent matter.
I just cant think what if Mike Dunleavy started this guy one day, with 35 / 40mins, it would be crazy, i think NBA record for most 3Pt´s in a game (13) would be very in danger. I would love Ainge making an offer to this guy.
He got 21 against us.
The guy can shoot! Don’t give him ANY daylight, he’ll hit it.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
Greatlong-range shooter
Too bad he can’t do anything else. He’s also a huge defensive liability, can’t guard anyone.

Viva! Eu sou outro.
ray allen had a reputation for not being able to guard a post until he came here.
anyone who comes here will become a better defender under the current regime. so, imho, that doesn’t scare me away from a guy like novak who has always worked hard. Im a Marquette grad so i have been aware of him for awhile.
Nope
That’s a myth. Allen was always a passable to above average defender, at least when he wasn’t too busy trying to put points on the board. For example, he was masterful guarding Iverson in 2001. Plus, Ray Allen is not some one-dimentional 3pt shooter, like Novak is. I really don’t think it’s a very useful comparison.
Besides that, although good coaching can help a player becoming a slightly better defender, I doubt it would be enough to make Novak passable. He has a place in this league, just not with the C’s as they are currently constructed.
Just...
put Novak in All Star Game shooting threes and the Clippers have their season won and fullfiled.
Oh.
I’ve known about Novak’s talent for a long time. It was only a matter of time until he went nuts.
