Tony Allen not what we had hoped.
I have really been rooting for TA this year - Danny Ainge predicted that this year would be a "break out" year for him. However, we have witnessed just too many bonehead playes from this likable point? shooting? guard. He is also hitting threes at a .150 (3 for 20) clip.
On the other hand GAbe Pruitt has looked very strong this year - meaningful minutes played when House was out. Gabe is very quick, good D nice wingspan and great attitude and is a better outside shooter than TA. I'd like to see him get more meaningful minutes. I expect they would be point guard minutes.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Im not one to jump on the Gabe Pruitt bandwagon, but if it means less minutes for TA, thats addition by subtraction at this point

I was somewhat disappointed when the C’s re-signed TA. They could have gotten someone else for that money. I don’t think he is even better than ML Carr. ML had life and energy on the court and made everyone around him enthusiastic about playing. Too bad his coaching style did not reflect that.

Pruitt can't play the wing.
He’s more a strict guard than Tony Allen.
The hope some had for Tony Allen was proven wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same happened to the “free Gabe” crowd – who are basically the same people. Pruitt has proved he might belong to the NBA; but that was all so far. People who pretend to know that Pruitt can contribute to a NBA team, let alone the champions, are just making a wild and uneducated guess.

Good post, Cordobes. Tony’s simply not basketball smart enough to make a significant contribution to a contender. It’s amazing how many people on this board think Pruitt, Walker and Giddens are the answer to what is wrong with this ballclub.
Out of sight, top of mind.

I haven't given up hope
Still showing flashes of being a solid 6th man, I don’t think it’s time to give up hope quite yet. He’s a good defender and he can get to the basket against almost anyone. His game needs to be fleshed out a little bit, but I wouldn’t write him off just yet. Not that I think anyone’s ever going to confuse him with Posey…
