Perk Getting Offensive
I'm really enjoying the emphasis to get Perkins going offensively. He just adds one more dimension to the team if he is a threat on the post or at the elbow.

One of the Celtics’ newest weapons really isn’t new at all. After establishing himself as one of the best low post defenders in the NBA, Kendrick Perkins is now diversifying his portfolio at the other end of the floor. The slimmed-down center may never be a primary option, but by adding a short jumper to his repertoire, he’s more able to take advantage of the defensive attention paid to his teammates.

Yeah....
I mean, he was wasting all that time transforming his body, becoming an incredible defender, and winning a championship and stuff…
He obviously should of just worked on jumpers the whole time…. worked for Blount.
Got him paid big. I mean, who cares bout championships…

He actually didn’t get paid big compared to other centers around the league, he is only making 4 mill a year.

yeah dude...
because when your only job for the last half a decade is to play basketball you only have time to work on blocking shots and getting that defensive stance down pat right? LMAO!
maybe for the next five years he should focus on his outlet passes right cordilb? the outlet pass got Scal paid big time AND a championship. You may recall that Scal declared himself a “top 3 outlet passer in the league” when he signed with the Celtics.
With your lofty expectaitions of people you must be a swell person to work for.

Perk posted huge numbers back in high school, when he was a giant among boys.
So it’s understandable it took a little to get him to lay off the offense in the NBA. Nice to see him growing back into it at this level.

He is going to create a 4th quarter issue
Play Wallace or play Perk.
Nice problem to have.

Infinite kudos
Perk has become significantly better, by age 24, than I EVER thought he’d be. I was blown away by his play against Howard last playoffs, and his development of a nice little offensive game this season has me speechless … almost.
The only coment I agree with so far, though, is amenhotep’s. Perk will still be pulled at the end of games when his bad foul shooting might matter; he’s not better than KG; and only 1 out of 100 bigs drafted where he was turn into a player like him, so there’s no inevitability to it.
He’s arguably the best dollar-for-dollar value in the league, except for guys on rookie scale, to boot.
I loooooooooove Perk!

Weapons
Perk with a short range J?
Keeps defense honest and helps everyone else on the floor. Just let them sag off him in the lane now at 12 feet out. I just hope he doesnt fall in love with it and shoot us out of any games. Doubt that happens but ya gotta keep an eye out for it……..

Kendrick Perkins
Celtic for life. I have never had any qualms about Perk.
Even early on, Perk showed more toughness and resolve than most pro ballers. Sure he had things to learn! But centers in the NBA generally take some seasoning, and many people weren’t willing to give him that time to grow. Well, glad to see people coming around as Perk blossoms. And proud to see him exceed my own expectations!
I think it is safe to say that there are few who question his worth these days. Since KG’s injury, the naysayers can no longer claim that Perk’s improvement is simply a function of KG’s presence on the court. The Beast is for real!
