Shirley sifts through hundreds of email notifications a day and spends between 2 and 4 hours gathering links about the Celtics every day. Seriously, there should be a holiday named for her or something. Thank you Shirley.

Great, and a woman like me. Does anyone know what part of Fl is she located. I’m in Jacksonville.

Am in N Florida and thanks so much Shirley

My favorite read of all after a game is the “comments from the other side”. Thanks So Much!

Her contributions have an effect on my life daily...

And help push my celtics addiction to new heights.

I dont know what i’d do without reading the daily links and previews.

Thanks Shirley!

Thanks Shirley, amazing work.

What impresses me the most is your dedication and the fact that you keep tracking and posting Celtics news (and game previews) every day! What a great work…

I know it always take much more time to write articles/make lists/etc than we think, but this paragraph really astonished me : “I have google alerts for every player and word associated with the team. Some mornings I wake up with 400-500 emails to sort through. I also have the links bookmarked to all of the Celtics blogs that I know of along with the newspaper sections from all the Celtics major competitors. I go through them all every morning. It takes anywhere between 2 and 4 hours to gather and post them, depending on the number of links on any given day.”

I can’t imagine waking up and having 500 Google alerts, and having to sort through!

So, thanks again for your wonderful work, the numerous hours you spend everyday “working” for the Celtics fans; and keep it up, we enjoy it!

FFCF A growing club

Female Florida Celtics Fans. Thank You for giving me the courage to start giving my opinion (instead of just lurking) and the links to make me appear, at least, to be informed. I also got interested in the Celtics because I played basketball in Jr. High and High School in the 60’s. Your attention to detail and your dedication are very much appreciated, as well as your recall of the history of the team. Your opinions are valued.

Thanks FLCELTSFAN!!!

Thanks for your dedication.

And keep your head up out there in Magic land. Those folks out there are deaming if they think they can beat the C’s this year.

The hardest working woman in the blogosphere

Many thanks as always FL

When Perk was asked what he thought of Howard winning the gold medal this summer, he responded: "What’s his impression of me after I won a ring?"

A big 'thank you' from Portugal

I wasn’t sure what FL’s real name was (although I already suspected she was a female).

But let me tell you this:
I live in Portugal and I started reading about the Celtics because of this person. She had these incredible play-by-plays posts at Loy’s Place, which were precious for someone who couldn’t watch the games, like me.

Thank you sooo much, FL.

For me, Shirley provides the whipped cream and cherry on the top of every game the Celtics win.

Because no victory is fully savored until I’ve read the next-day quotes entitled “Comments From the Other Side” compiled by her as FlCeltsFan. I don’t understand why they’re always posted on the Loy’s Place blog. But it doesn’t matter since she always links to them on CelticsBlog.

In the movie Conan the Barbarian, the hero Conan explains what is “best in life.” It is, he says, “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.” On many a great day, that’s what “Comments From the Other Side” delivers.

by no kidding on Oct 30, 2009 10:22 AM EDT reply actions

I love that analogy to the Comments posts. Crush our enemies indeed. They are posted on Loy’s Place, because that is my home blog. Those Comments posts are so much fun to gather when we win. Not so much when we lose :)

Shirley, even when the Celtics lose, Comments From the Other Side can be enlightening to read. Besides, I figure you have to take the bad news along with the good. So thank you again for making it easy to do.

And finally, I don’t mean to be at all sexist in my choice of cinematical references. But when I hear fans from opposing teams crying about refs giving the Celtics all the breaks, and guys like Garnett and Perkins being called thugs who get away with murder, that’s what I consider “the lamentation of their women.”

A thread of THANKS to Shirley ~

For her tireless and longstanding efforts in compiling far flung bits of Celtic news and weaving them into our daily reading lists on CelticsBlog, along with her fine game threads which gives a nice structured feel to the place, please accept this note of sincere thanks !

I want in on this lovefest too!

You don’t realize how much she does till she takes a vacation.

All I know is her husband must be the luckiest dude in the world.

The game previews/threads are one of my favorite parts of CelticsBlog, and yes, we all ought recognize FLCeltsFan for all her work, but also for the flair she adds to the game previews— when I’m getting ready for a game and reading the preview, I feel like a GM getting a report from the scouting staff!

Thankfulness

Yes! I am greatly thankful for all your contributions to a couple of web sites, but especially for this site and daily links to fill my days. Thanks!
