Message Sent. Not this year Baby Bulls

Rajon Rondo's stat line is all you need to know for tonight.  2 points, 16 assists, 8 boards, 1 steal and 2 turnovers.   Rajon took two shots, but absolutely dominated this game, just demolishing Derrick Rose.  Question, can we just start calling him Errick Rose?   Is it too soon?

The rest of the starters went a combined 26 for 39, largely due to the ridiculousness dime dropping from Rondo.

Message to Danny, just sign the kid.  Seriously.

Jimmy is at the game and will have a full recap following the locker room pressers.

Happy Halloween.

guess who got a double double?

shelden williams! 10 points and ten boards in 24 min not bad, not bad at all just solid play from the bench! and with house scoring 22 points in 22 minutes, I guess he thrives with daniels handling the basketball for the second unit

a bright spot...

but he is getting a ton of garbage minutes this year with other teams’ 2nd and 3rd units. It’s great for him to get some ‘burn’, but I still would like to have baby back…

This team looks scary good

Once BBD comes back, I simply won’t believe this team loses until I see it. They’re just way too balanced on offense and like always ferocious on defense.

Can’t wait till Sunday. :D

Just remember guys...

…we started 27-2 last season. Our team looks good, but we shouldn’t get too excited yet.

Agreed on both counts

Yes, CIO, the team does look deeper and better.

Yes, as PI intimates, three down, 79 (plus playoffs) to go.

That said, very happy with the start.

Chicago misses Ben Gordon. Not that it would have made a ton of difference, but they dont have anyone to light it up for em.

As for the Cs—they are bringing it on it—in waves.

Not even playing...

We are not even playing as well as we will be. This team could be one of the all time great teams. It’s early but they have an ’86 Celtics look to me. Adding Wallace was huge.

Rondo...

I know he was great and all, but the Celtics hit a LOT of jumpshots tonight. Sure, I guess he set those up, but they really were on fire overall. I love what I am seeing from Rondo so far this year, but I do want to see him have a couple of decent scoring games before we annoint him the new king of the NBA…I will say, though, that I have absolutely loved his defense. He seems to be shutting down every pg.

Ir was a scary Halloween type of night for the Bulls.

The quality of the Celtics’ second unit players is so overall good, that none of them seem to be straining hard to contribute. Rasheed in particular just looks to be cruising in automatic. House must be wondering what he ever did to deserve being in such a perfect situation for his game.

what a difference a few months make, and a healthy kg, and a bench. rondo made the machine go but the parts were well oiled and moving like a dynamo. one game at a time and that’s plenty good.

Give the Bulls credit...they scored 90 points!

The question remains :

Will any team score 100 against Boston this year?

Bench

Loved watching it, and the potential of the bench especially without BBD and Scalabrine. It was very fun watching Williams, who I think could be a key because he could really allow Wallace to float around more. I also like how Doc gets to tinker with matchups, especially with the 1-3 positions coming off the bench.
More than anything, I LOVE the rest that Garnett, Perk and Pierce are getting!

The defense was smothering at times tonight

That was the best part of the game. On several posessions, the Bulls had absolutely no clue what to do with the ball.

Awesome performance tonight. Everyone (save JR, who was brutal) contributed. Rondo was spectacular, Captain was the Truth as usual, Ray’s stroke was a thing of beauty, KG keeps getting better, Eddie Mansion had one of his ‘no one is gonna stop me from doing anything I want to’ games, and I thought Shelden Williams was terrific.

The defence, as others have pointed out, was frightening in its efficiency. Once they decided to go into lockdown mode, the game was over.

I’m not going to get too carried away, but this team has a look about them this year that does remind me of those other great Cs teams (although I won’t say that they are at the 1986 Holy Grail level just yet). I’m just blown away by how calm and composed they look on the floor, and how amazing the chemistry looks.

Fun time to be a Celts fan right now, that’s for sure.

It may be being tired, or it may be the beer and sheer win-gasm i'm experiencing,

but Rondo just looked me in the eye and said,
‘I want to be a Celtic, but at the end of the day, it’s a business.’

I just got that feeling I had when my high school sweetheart said after a week of acting distant ‘We need to talk.’ You know, that ‘OH NOES!’ feeling.

Value

Rondo is a very good PG. His defense is outstanding but if he needs to develop his offence to even think of getting anywhere close to max money.
