Can Lester Hudson be another backup point guard for us?
I know the C's signed Daniels to fill the job but what about Hudson?
I know its early seeing we only have seen him in just 1 preseason game, but what are the chances that he can also be a back up point guard for us?
He looked good in his 1st pre season:
He has a great body for the NBA, seems to have good ball handling skills, can bring the ball up the court under pressure, has great speed, a good outside shot and is very active on defense..
I think Hudson who is a good outside shooter will not allow his defender to sag off on him (like Rondos defender does) to double team our low post players.
This will allow for alot of easy buckets for our low post players especially if Garnett Rasheed and Pierce are on the floor with Hudson at the same time.
Id like to see more of his ball passing skills and how he sets up the offense for the others on the floor, but so far so good in my opinion.
Does any one else agree?
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I thought he looked good. It looked a little like he was purposely trying to stay out of the offense (being the last roster spot), and clearly he is more comfortable being the scorer. But, I also think Doc was running simple set plays that didn’t involve him.
He certainly looked a lot better than JR to me. I think he can get some minutes this year.

Go South Memphis
Doc likes aggressive players and Lester is aggressive. The young man is getting to the dance a little late. The important fact is it’s not how soon you get there but how well you play when you do get there. Lester is a shooting guard being converted to a point guard. The young man is very talented and hungry to be a NBA basketball player. By the way while Lester was trying to get to the pro’s he got his degree.

Hudson looks promising but only playing time will tell.............
if he can help us at the backup point guard position.
I like the fact Doc gave him minutes in the first game.
I hope he will continue to do so for the rest of the preseason and into the regular season.
The kid is built like a house, is quick and can shoot.
Now if he can bring the ball up under pressure, pass and defend…we have found another backup point guard.
But the only way we will find out is if Doc plays him, so lets hope he does !

Hudson would have looked better
if JR could make a shot.
From what I recall of the fourth quarter, Hudson fed him at least twice and maybe three times within easy reach of the basket and JR missed the shot each time.
‘Thus messing up Lester’s assist stat line.

perception
After today’s game against New Jersey I realized something. Lester Hudson has already gotten more burn than Giddens and Walker combined last year in camp. I wonder what he has done differently? Danny, Doc and several of the veterans have spoken favorably about him without prompting. He has gotten more attention for a reason, wish I knew what he has done to earn it.

agreed
He is totally garnishing all the attention, right? It looks like he is ahead of Williams, Sweetney, Giddens, TA, probably walker, and maybe even scal. It seams like he really minimizes bad decisions, which is why he is playing so much (aside from great defense): Doc is starting to trust him. This kid has an offensive game that he has yet to unleash, but I suspect we are going to start seeing glimpses as he get’s comfortable and Doc gives him the go.
