Can Paul Pierce win the MVP?
Yes I know that Kobe, Wade, Howard and Bron Bron are the hot favourites but what if the C's finish with the best record in the NBA and PP is the best player on the team? KG should have won it in 08 but they decided to give a lifetime acheivement award (MVP) to Bryant instead. There's nobody around the league right now that deserves a lifetime acheivement award that has not won the MVP more than PP at this stage so why not give him an MVP if he posts good numbers (20ppg, 7rpg, 6apg) and leads his team to the best regular season record. They gave Nash and Dirk the MVP recently for doing it. Why not the Truth?
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Finals MVP
is much better than MVP. I’m sure LeBron agrees.

Prediction: LeBron is going to win again. Melo might give him a run for his money though.
Would love it if Paul could win, but Bron Bron is gonna take it. Let’s face it, he’s gonna post moster stats. At least he deserves it, if LeBron was taken out of the Cleve, they’d prob be a lottery team.
Don't Trade Rondo or Perk!

Bron does deserve it
True Cle would be a lottory team without Bron and so would Miami and Orlando too and that makes these teams very valuable to their team. None more than Lebron but what if the C’s win say 66-68 games. Nash did not deserve the second MVP. Not saying that the Truth would fully deserve his but he would be more worthy than Nash. Michael Jordan did not win the MVP every year he played (not including that stint with the Wizards) and he deserved it every year.

70 = MVP
I said this last year, and I feel it even more this year because of who he has around him. If the Celtics win 70 games, PP is a lock for the MVP. You can already tell (injury aside god forbid) that he’s gonna have one of his most productive years, mostly because of the rest he’s gonna be getting that he’s so sorely deserved and needed with the addition of Quisey. Sheed’s ability to spread the floor will make Paul that more dangerous too. Out of all of the superstars in the league without an MVP, he’s most deserving. Dwight, Melo, Wade will all get theirs in due time. If the C’s get 70(+), Paul’s getting the hardware, guaranteed.

I doubt it
Deserving or not, the voters will probably never consider him, and he’ll probably never have big enough stats (i.e. scoring) in the Celtics spread-the-wealth-around system. Too many voters put too much stock on the pts scored column in the stat sheet.
I’m sure he’d much rather have another ring anyway.

If anyone on the Celtics is winning the MVP.....
it’s going to be KG. Voters will take last season (especially last post season) into account for this year’s success or lack of success.
Well let me welcome everybody to the wild wild west. A state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness.

Right now...
KG has a zero percent chance of winning MVP. Have you been watching them play? Pierce is shredding the NBA right now. He’s dunking on people, shooting lights out from everywhere and defending better than ever after shedding 15 pounds. He is the best player on the floor almost EVERY night. With that said, KG will have to do a lot better statistically than he’s doing right now to even have a chance at winning the MVP. Based on what this team needs from KG every night,(especially with the addition of Sheed) it’s just not enough to allow him to get the numbers he needs to be considered.

if you had to choose one getting injured.....
who would it be? Pierce or KG? If I were a Celtics fan, I’d rather have KG on the floor.

I guess I didn't make myself clear...
I would rather KG be hurt if I had to choose one…however we’ll need both to win a title obviously. So far through 5 games Pierce is playing as well as anyone statistically (specifically his percentages from the field and three) and right now Garnett isn’t even putting up all star numbers. You can squak all you want about the things we don’t measure statistically (defense stops, defensive rotations) but the fact is Pierce is doing those things just as well right now and has been for 3 years. Pierce is the better basketball player, end of story.

Just the fact we're talking about it...
gives me the chills. It’s true, he really has a legitimate shot for the first time. It’s been a blessing watching the guy play and I just hope we stay healthy so he can get his lifetime achievement award.
