The Captain can still get up
Jimmy mentioned it in the comments of the recap, it does seem as though Paul is dunking a lot more this year. That's probably a good sign.

Captain Pierce
And after the dunk he just walked away calmly down the court, superbly adding to the effect.

Was the knee to the balls really necessary though? Ouch.

That did look painful.
I really don’t think Paul meant it. The way he angled himself to lessen the likelyhood of a block caused him to do it, I believe.

Beating a "sub .500 team" at home...
….will only “temporarily mask” what`s wrong with the Celts.
Even in defeat, Toronto shot 56% from the floor AND out-rebounded Boston.

and we still won
by the way, toronto will not be a sub .500 team, they are much better than their record

Ridiculous that a 1 second scowl is given a "T"
There’s just no understanding that call.
As to the Raptors ending up over .500 with their complete lack of defense, I say it’s not going to happen…

that’s right about Toronto, they’re showing their true colors. I thought it was comical how many folks were picking them to be a HCA playoff team. i stand by my preseason pick of Toronto going back to the lottery.

Pierce is definitely in Better Shape this year, too.
In my opinion he looks to be in better shape than even 2007-2008. He is truly hungry.
And wait until KG gets his legs back…

People said this last season
Paul Pierce came into training camp last year 5-10 lbs lighter then he was the championship season
Not that i dont agree with him being in good shape, but we say the same things seemingly every year

just like winning the title.

Thank you for the video
Strange that Paul gets a T for expressing concern that Bosh was laid out on the floor.
Seriously, you can never tell what kind of smack talk has gone on prior in a game. This T was just plain silly.

Hahaha, you can’t actually believe that was him “expressing concern.” Thats gotta bet he funniest thing I’ve read all day. I think he was just admiring the work his elbow and knee did on Bosh.

Random Pierce Dunk Notes
1. D Wade goes in with his knees on every dunk too.
2. Bosh was under the basket … caveat defender. Good no call.
3. I don’t think Bosh was all that physically hurt. I think his feelings were hurt, and then I think he was disgusted (rightly so) that his teammates didn’t pick him up.
4. The “c’mon Chris” line I think came from either Nesterovic or the Raptors bench, as in “c’mon Chris, step up.”
5. We’ve wanted Pierce to be more aggressive taking the ball to the rim, and he seems to be doing this. I wonder if he secretly had some knee work done on his hurt knee after the ‘08 Finals. He has a speed and a lift this year that he did not have last year. (At least he’s had it the first 6 games and the last 3 games.) It would be just like Pierce to not tell anyone outside the team about some surgery, and then just play through it last year without ever mentioning it.

his cross-over dribble is also much tighter this year
he’s regularly splitting double teams and getting in the paint with it
last year, it was a guaranteed turnover
KG was running back up the court much better yesterday, and his turnaround jumper looked better
there was 6 minutes of good D in the 3rd Q, from 61-57 Toronto leading until the 3:50 mark when KG sat with 5 fouls; this was fortunate because he was gassed and Doc should have pulled him at this point anyway
still, it was a step forward for KG and the team
amazing when the C’s pound the ball inside how it opens up Ray’s game
as another poster mentioned, I was impressed that Perkins out on the perimeter was getting down low
glimmers of hope for this team

Good dunk by The Truth, but not his best ever..
Does anyone remember when he dunked on Baron Davis from the feed from Big Al? That was a true facial! Wondering if there are any videos of it anywhere.. if so, please post!

much more of him this year
Pierce this year is much more aggressive than the last years. He has the energy the whole team should have. I guess the knee didn’t was his intention. (unlucky CB4 in this sequence) & BTW we won this game because of the rare good performance of Sheed – if he would play more consistently, we would win it all… For toronto: they have a good team now but I would increase DeRozans minutes – Belleneli is overrated, DeMar will be the next super star and bring them in championsship range ^_° (but not with couch Triano – he will be fired soon)
I asked god and he said: L.A. will lose again next year!! ^_°
