Around SBN: Has Kentucky Improved Since the Non-Conference Season?

OKC pushed the Lakers to overtime and just rolled over the Magic. Watch out for Durant and company this year.

The Irony is Delicious.

They get destroyed the night SVG complains his team isn’t getting the recognition they deserve…

oh oh it's tragic

here, let me give them the recognition they deserve: they stink

we nearly beat them last year with 6 guys, 2 front court guys and no backups

recognition? we’re 7 games into the season. did these guys win a championship?

they lost (arguably) their most indispensable player

note to SVG: hey Shemp, you’re not fooling anyone with the black outfits; you might also rethink the center part

I agree with everything you said except the fact that Turkoglu vs Howard is no argument.

the magic were kind of shorthanded, though

Bass in the starting lineup was awful
nelson was completely owned by Westbrook
durant was nearly unstoppable 2night

now if only we could get durant in the summer of 2011…

That's True..

Though I think SVG was saying how good the team was despite not having a full strength squad.

Saw this game

The Thunder has an incredible home fan base. Probably my second (third?) favorite team to watch in the NBA behind the C’s

Thunder is a team to keep an eye on, but probably off to a hot start. Later when teams figure them out they will not take teams by surprise. Little early still…

Orlando got waxed. Does this mean the Magic are too old? If Celtics lost like that it would be the first thing mentioned. LOL

No Vince Carter or Rashard Lewis

So where were the points supposed to come from?

by rrc589 on Nov 9, 2009 12:07 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Howard for one? Anyways if they are counting on Carter ‘half man, half a season’ as Barkley used to say they may be in trouble.

Was pointed out to me he has not missed more then 9 games in a single season in last 6 years. Guess that quote from Barkley no longer applies. LOL

Except for the fact he’s only played 3 games this season….

Howard is not a very good offensive player

I mean, all he can really do is dunk. He’s not someone who you can depend on to pick up the slack for scorers when your key scorers are out of the game.

Ryan Anderson was also out.

Not to mention they were doing ok before this so bringing the ‘injury excuse’ is not a good excuse imo.

As beat up as the C's were last season

we never lost this badly. especially to a lowly team like the Thunder. We were injured and our few reserves stepped it up. The Magic, “the deepest team in the league”, just couldn’t hack it.

Turk-less

From the minute Orlando let Hedu go and acquired VC, in my mind, they took a step back.

Orlando is essentially a week-minded team, very low basketball IQ and toughness. They lost their smartest basketball player and added a very fragile one in Carter.
