Bill Walker Will Return Soon
After a week where they only had 2 off days, the vets are enjoying their rest. Now it sounds like they might have another live body to throw into the games. Via the Herald.
Bill Walker will return to practice today after rehabbing from Oct. 2 surgery on his right knee.
"We’ll see how my shape is, but I’ve been doing a lot of conditioning and stuff like that," he said. "I’ve been working on the court, too, so it’s a matter of time."
I'm not sure how often he'll play, but perhaps he can at least take over for Marquis Daniels in garbage time. And if he can provide some scrappy spark on occasion, even better.

Good luck with that dude! I’ll be working late to finish a project. And after that I gotta go home and wire some money to pay bills. Solid start of the week, isn’t it? :P
Let’s hope for a few W’s to polish this week a lil’. And perhaps some Walker time.

yep, would be nice to add some reliable depth behind pp, ray and daniels at the 2/3 positions. for when they get tired/foul trouble or just cold.
Since the 4/5 spots seem very well handled with perk, kg, sheed, baby and williams :)))
also, getting walker going is really good for the franchise, developing valuable youth is always more useful than it seems on the surface.. considering what landed us KG.. good youth and a big expiring contract.
i just took a look at betfair… celtics were 6.5:1 to win the championship before the season started.. now they are 4.4:1…

Well, he can`t be worse than Giddens…Or can he?

This probably means
that either Giddens or Hudson will be left off the active roster. Most likely Giddens.

Great news..........
The Celtics need a big strong small forward who can guard big strong small forwards (like Lebron) when Pierce leaves a game in foul trouble, is hurt or needs a blow and Walker may be just the man for the job.
Daniels has the length but not the bulk to guard big strong small forwards (like Lebron) but Walker has both the length and the bulk.
Walker is a very physical defender and would be very nice to throw against big strong small forwards like Lebron.
Walker can use all 6 fouls and will be great on putting a body on such players to prevent power drives to the hoop since he is both very quick and a very strong defender.

I think he’s gonna come in for the end of the first half (where Doc has been playing JR) Then in garbage time… but eventually i think he’ll see some real action. He would have played for Marquis the other night.
But overall i think Lester Hudson and Billy will be playing together quite a bit this season. So start working on those alley-oops.

those knees of walker scare the daylights out of me. i’d like to see a jump shot as well. of walker and giddens, walker has a small advantage, i think, but his knees hold him back.

Agreed Nazzbo
What’s the juvenile dislike of Giddens about by these other bloggers. He may not be NBA material on a team like ours but he works hard on defense and over-passes if anything on O.
