12 Days Till Christmas In Orlando
The Celtics have already given us a gift in this 10 game winning streak. Concerns over the team's slow stretch have been put back on the shelf in the back room next to the panic button and umbrellas. Rumors of our window closing prematurely were greatly exaggerated.
Still, call me greedy, but I want a little more. I'm looking forward to one game in particular 12 days from now.
Last year this team had some similar themes that were concerning. The team ran over lesser teams but hit a brick wall against the Lakers and staggered through a rough stretch. They got their mojo somewhat back down the stretch but we don't know how good the team could have been with a healthy KG in place.
The Magic beat us in November, which appears to have motivated the team to step it up a notch. They haven't lost since and they get their chance at revenge on Christmas day. I want that win. I want it badly.
Still, we've got another 12 days to go, so lets bide our time looking forward at the schedule with a (slightly modified) old favorite tune.
On the 1st day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a game against the Teddy Bears in Memphis.
On the 2nd day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a three day break to rest weary bones.
On the 3rd day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a full practice to work on rebounding.
On the 4th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, another practice to work on the finer points.
On the 5th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a look at the wrong Answer to a question that was never asked.
On the 6th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a day off to do some Christmas shopping.
On the 7th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a chance to catch up with some old friends in from Minnesota.
On the 8th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a chance to be thankful for the special team we've got.
On the 9th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a visit from Grandpa Larry Legend.
On the 10th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, more rest and home cooking.
On the 11th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, a silent night and chance to reflect.
On the 12th day of Christmas, my Celtics gave to me, revenge!
Ok, that last one isn't exactly in the spirit of the season, but hey, I wish the Magic players and organization all the blessings in the world, as long as those blessings don't extend to the basketball court.

Jeff...
Your’re not the only one who can’t wait to the X-Mass day showdown. It feels like it is taking forever. Gonna enjoy the up and coming games just as much though.
im more anxious to wait for the celts vs lakers game
just still dont quite think the orlando magic this year is at the same lvl as the cs and the lakers. i know they beat us just a couple weeks ago, but the C’s would even struggle with some lesser teams during that period.

Big Baby
that reminds me,will BBD be back with the team for the XMAS day game?I hope our bench is full strength by Xmas or at least Big Baby playing by then.He tend to play some of his best games aganist Orlando over the road.
no he wont
he is expected to return on december 27th. probably will not play against the magic.
Speaking of revenge...
We also get to see Phoenix and Indiana this month as well. And then we get the Hawks THREE times next month. Oh yes, revenge is in store.
This team last year scared Orlando
and that is without KG and alot of other injuries. It will be the C’s and the Lakers in the end. As long as the C’s have the big three healthy there is no way they won’t make it to the Finals. Shaq is too old to handle KG and Perkins and Howard needs more outside shooters. Carter has historically chocked in the 4th which leaves no one else to save that team in the clutch while the Celtics have Ray and Pierce.
Eager to watch that game, too.
And to see how the Celtics perform against Orlando when I feel that they should have beat them last time. In a hostile environment, with national coverage and after playing much better through our winning streak I feel that this game is a must win and I’m definitely confident about it.
Bring it!
Suns, pacers, magic, atlanta…..man it is the season of giving and a new year full of resolutions about no more losses to teams from Atlanta! All I want for Xmas is all of orlando’s teeth strung up on my tree…like popcorn! Oh and orlando’s scoreboard with a descisive loss to my C’s!
I said decisive! I meant beat down!
This is a must win! The bigger we win the better we will feel about next time we play and any potential playoff series. Ray Eddie….find your range befor that game. Vince doesn’t play much defense so you’ll get open looks.
We're hated
Have any of you visited blogs from any of our opponents?, ie: Hawks, Magic, Cav blogs? Well, I have just for fun and this is what is common in these blogs: They hate us with a passion, we’re an old team, we are thugs, we get preferential treatment from officials due to our histroy, PP is slow and overrated, Ray is a ‘sporadic’ streaky 3 point shooter, KG slows slower and only 75% (at best) of what he was before his injury, The Lakers will kill us this year, Doc can’t coach, Rondo is a bad shooter and only benefits from playing with the big 3, AND as well…our winning streak has been against average teams…No Lakers, Magic, Hawks, (supposedly the other top title contending teams).
So there you have it…WE ARE HATED BY THE REST OF THE LEAGUE……And I have to say that Revenge will be sweet this year..get ready Atlanta, Orlando, and LAL!!! Please Bring it.
Uh
Not to be a wet blanket, but as much as I’m looking forward to that game, I’m just as worried about tonight’s. Memphis is playing extremely well right now, including beating the Cavs this week and shellacking the Heat yesterday. The Cs could easily lose tonight.
keep our eye on the prize
we really don’t have a quality win this year so yes, I’d like to beat the magic in orlando but I’m not going to get freaked out if we don’t. The goal is still to win a title and i’d rather peak in April than now. ALthough we’re an old team we have 2 young players that people keep overlooking and those are perk and rondo. Both of those guys have improved so much that they offset the decline in athleticim from Pierce and allen. KG is the x factor and so far he has exceeded my expectations of where he’d be at this point. OUr bench is also better but I still feel we’re a player away from having a really great bench so I fully expect to see danny make a move before the trading deadline
