Big change needed!!!Enough is Enough Doc

Enough is enough for me,im getting sick and tired of the way this celtics team is playing,getting beat against philly is inexcusable.Doc Rivers,wise up,ive just started to notice over the past few game how boring and lazy the Celtics are becoming to be,last night was a typical example of how bad Cs were,we need to make drastic changes.i dont care if we dont win the nba this year,all i want to see is starting from stractch again building up a young fresh team and getting rid of all the rubbish.Heres what i mean:

Scalabrine=OUT

House=OUT

S.Williams=OUT

Wallace=OUT

and possibly 1 of the big three!!!and heres the ones i think Doc should be giving a chance!!!

Walker=IN

Giddens=IN

Big Baby(when back)=IN

Hudson=IN

thats what i think should happen,i dont care what anyone else thinks but its time for that load of rubbish to go,they are all just a waste of space,give the young ones a chance Doc!!UP THE CELTS!!!

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

what im tryin to point out is that

the 1s coming of the bench are not doing anything,tony allens only back and hes got more points already than all them put together,it needs to be sorted,and what does wallace do all the time,gets ejected and lets the team down,thats bgood teaminship\!!!!

bad ideas, all around.

yea, we didn’t play well last night. And I do agree with you that someone needs to light a fire under these guys’ butts, especially Pierce, and especially against scrub teams like Philly. If we’re going to lose, let’s lose to the best. But we shouldn’t blow up the team because of it. the Big Three are fine. Wallace is fine, just got out of control last night.

and no, considering the young guys we have on this team, we don’t need to give them a chance. Giddens is TERRIBLE! people need to get over him, he will be gone at the end of the year if not before. Walker hasn’t proved he can play on a large level, and more than likely Hudson won’t either. I don’t understand the thought that Doc doesn’t like young guys. Rondo? Perk? Powe? Davis? All young, and all played big minutes. Doc doesn’t mind youth, he just knows how to recognize talent. Giddens and Walker don’t have it. Hudson probably not either. If they did, they would play.

Don’t get bent out of shape over one loss, kid. you need some perspective.

Doc Rivers said Hudson will be in D-League for a couple of games

And then come back maybe next week or so, so I think Doc likes Hudson.

Either way, these topics aren’t necessary.

Ridiculous!!

So let me get this straight:
-The Celtics are 20-5, the best team in the NBA
- Just two years removed from a championship and on the verge of another
-A team with the NBA’s elite players (Garnett, Ray, Pierce, Sheed,etc)

And you want more of young, unproven, underacheiving players who clearly aren’t ready for the NBA???!!

Yeah, makes lots of sense.

I suppose you also want to bring back Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Wally Sczerbiak, Delonte West and Ryan Gomes too!!

I just love how we finally have a winning Celtics team after some lean years in the 90s and parts of this decade. Yet some people don’t appreciate it because of one meaningless loss to a Sixers team who will be golfing and bowling come late April.

You make some bad points and some good points....

Let me first say we played a bad game for the first time in 11 games and you should not over react.

Now I think you make some wrong suggestions regarding changing the rotation but make some good ones that I have been hoping the C’s to make for awhile and hope they make even if they did not lose the game last night.

To begin I disagree big time with your belief we need to bench Wallace.
He is the only legit back up center we have coming off the bench.
He gives us the size and length on defense that we lacked last year and is our best low post in the paint offensive player.
Who do you want to take his place anyway?
Any one else (Baby) will be too undersized to play back up center.

I disagree we should sit William’s as he again is the only power forward off the bench that we have that offers us size and length (with his long wing span) to defend the low post, rebound and block shots which Baby who is a inch shorter and has a very short wing span does such a poor job of.

I disagree that Giddens should get minutes since he has not shown us that he deserves them.

Now I do think you make some valid points.

I agree with you that House should sit for a while since he is struggling this year and we should see what Hudson can do.
Hudson showed us in the preseason he can defend and score , is very quick and athletic so deserves a shot of solid playing time.

I agree that Scalabrine should sit since he is simply not that talented and not helping us off the bench.
He should be traded ASAP with his valuable expiring contract for a player who can give us a more serious contribution off the bench.

I agree with you Baby should get minutes and will be a big boost with his youth and fresh legs when he does return.
Though I think he lacks rebounding, shot blocking and low post defensive skill simply due to lack of length, he does bring his bulk and a physical play onto the court and his 6 fouls that can help the C’s when they are facing tough, young semi big forwards.

I agree Walker should be played ASAP since he brings young legs, youth that we need and is the wing defender the C’s lack to help defend against opposing strong, big, athletic small forwards that give Pierce and Daniels fits to defend.

overreact much?

every team loses. The lakers lost to the bobcats TWICE last year, and they still went on to win the championship. they just need to play more focused bball.

Id start worrying if they lost like 6 in a row, not after 1

In Kobe we trust!

This team does have a problem - lack of mental effort at home

Any team with the talent of this Celtics team that plays as consistently poorly, meaning playing down to the level of its competition, at home has a problem. It is mental laziness. I have now been to three of the Celtics home losses, last nights was the worst. I saw the losses to Phoenix and Atlanta. Those were at least to good teams that were playing well; both of those teams came out believing they had a chance to win and played like it from beginning to end. The Celtics didn’t match the opponents intensity, but they didn’t play like total stiffs either.

I am not a passive fan, I clap, cheer, and yell throughout the game. The team did not match my enthusiasm or that of the rest of the crowd. What was worse — as I watched last nights game I thought to myself how truly awful Philly looked and played, well into the second half. Unfortunately the Celtics seemed to think they were so much better than Philly that they did not have to compete so they didn’t. They ought to know better by now. Friday night home games are getting to be like some bad sports version of the movie Groundhog Day.

Right now the Celtics just don’t play very hard at home wih any consistency. If they don’t start putting in something approaching the same effort at home as they do on the road this is going to be a surprisingly short season. This problem could be easily corrected — they simply need to consistently put in a little more mental and physical effort..
Last nights game wasn’t the end of the world, but it does seem to me part of a continuing pattern. I would like each and every Celtic player to look into a mirror and admit that that there really is a problem and that they are a part of the cause.

Mr. Can’t Keep His Mouth Shut Wallace did not lose last night s game. However, his absence from the game clearly hurt (I wonder if he ever reflects on the awful example of atrocious self-control he presents to his childrenl) I did not think last nights game was well officiated but I saw bad calls on both teams. I really felt that both teams had legitimate complaints but that in the end that the officials somehow did about equal injustice to both sides.

Great point...

you make colt45s .

The Celtics have suffered some losses to teams this year that are far less talented on paper then them.

That tells you its a mental, motivation, intensity matter here at play that must be the reason for these losses.

The C’s have to start getting their heads into games,concentrating, showing intensity and producing on the court even against the lower class teams they face this year and not just do it against elite teams.

The C’s losing to teams less talented then them is frustrating for us fans but lets keep in mind its a long season and such losses happen to the best of teams.

The best example is it even happened to the great 86 Celtic team that many considered the best team in NBA history.

If it could happen to that great 86 club it can also happen to this great 2010 C’s team.

So unless it becomes a more serious problem we must keep these losses (again if they are far and few apart) in perspective.

Im with you mattrob

I felt sick to my stomach at the effort (or lack of) put in against 76ers. Not to mention the 11 games before. I agree with everything you said except for getting rid of Scalabrine (he is the best player on the team). Now, which one of the big 3 do you want to get rid of? I think it should be Garnett, and not just a trade, I think we should just kick his ass out the door. This is what my starting lineup would look like.

Ostertag
Scal
Daniels
Walker
Hudson

That will teach the so called big three (or big 5) for winning 11 games in a row just to …………. God forbid ……………… lose a game.
