Sheed Gets 1 Tech Rescinded
"Near the end of the first quarter, Wallace made a shot in which he felt he was fouled. After the made basket, he yelled, 'And one!' That's when official Bennett Salvatore called a technical foul against Wallace."

lol
some refs are ridiculously ridiculous..
a T for saying and 1?
but maybe sheed was doing a whole lotta complaining and the yelling and 1 was the last straw..
do you celtics fans think that sheed or perkin will get 16 tech this seasson each and might get suspended?
Bennet Salvatore
is a jerk. But we all knew that. He should be fired. This incident is a very minor example of what makes him a biased and ineffective official.
He should have been fired a long time ago
And I don’t mean for this instance. He is far and away the most ridiculous ref in the league. He is the worst at making home-town calls, he is the worst at making up calls, and the worst at calling a foul on a play when the players have their backs to him and another ref has a better view.
Do you remember in the ’08 championship run during a key moment of the game against the Pistons there was the following play: Pierce pumpfaked Prince, who flew in the air and landed on Pierce, while Pierce nailed the 3? Pierce never left his feet, and was called for an offensive foul. Everyone was bewildered, and Charles Barkley called it the worst call he had ever seen in the playoffs. That call was made by SALVATORE, and is just one example of him not understanding basketball and responding to emotions with whatever rule he feels like.
If I could fire any 1 ref it’d be Salvatore, with Dick Bavetta as #2.

Doesn't change the out come of the game.
Which is what the tech did.
Well I thought it was Philly.....
..But it still affects the game. If they acknowledge that these can be resented they at least they are saying there Refs are wrong sometimes. But it does effect out comes of games. Look at that SA vs LA where Fisher lands on Barry’s back and no call is made etc. etc. etc. etc……
Looks like these two have a long standing relationship dating back to????
CIRCA 2000 AND 1!!!!!!

Is it Soup Yet?
Holy photoshop
Unless Sheed got a tech for ripping off the official’s hand.

AND ONE shouts the Garden crowd!
I gotta say I would love to see the Garden Crowd adopt “AND ONE” as a chant everytime Sheed leaves the bench.
Also want to know if games with Bennett Salvatore draw a bigger audience from here on out… adds kind of an interesting dimension if he is going after both Sheed and Perk. Definitely something for the handicappers to consider.
Sheed
im hoping that the summer meeting with doc paul kg and ray let sheed know whats expected for him with this team this season not just from a production standpoint but more importantly from a late season/postseason UNBUNTU standpoint. i was glad sheed came here as this is probably the only team that can harness his rawness towards the game rather than towards the officiating WHEN IT COUNTS. Yes hes racked up quite a few of them already, BUT i dont see him continuing this late in the season. The beauty of this team is that they are run by established players who are vocal like KG and Pierce. Can you imagine him in San Antonio with Pop at his throat alienating him and Duncan unable to even say a word to him when he went off.
"BING BAM BOOM BRUNO!!!" - Tommy Heinson on Bruno Sundov
Dethklok Fan
first off, whats with PO’s picture, why does sheed have the refs hand in a headlock of doom, or is that just a weird illusion. Also, this just goes to show how ridiculous the refs are towards sheed. I think he started it when he was on the blazers, and its only human nature to dislike someone who is constantly yelling at you, but its the refs job to be totally impartial. I dont know if i buy the whole conspiracy thing, but i do think theyre is a conspiracy against sheed, simply because they hate him. I cant remember the tech in miami but if all he said is “and one” then that is the craziest thing i have ever heard. Lebron screams and one after literally ever single shot he hits then runs over to the refs with that annoying whinny face. I know sheed has braught this upon himself but alot of the T’s this year were not technicals at all, hes allowed showing a little emotion
Whenever
A call gets overturned, the official in question should be fined for the mistake, with the amount increasing each time. Simply overturning the call days later after the game’s lost or the player’s been suspended doesn’t cut it.
Salvatore should be penalized for his “error”.
hah
thats a really bad idea… aall people make mistakes… should paul pierce get fined for traveling.. for doing a Double dribble? that his “Error”… no he shouldnt… bad bad idea sorry to tell ya

uh not really
well there is a big difference. if paul travels he is penalized during the game by a loss of possesion; however, if an official makes a bad call nothing happens. This is especially a problem when the call could have determined the outcome of a game. once again i think ur thinking is somewhat flawed as well. I dont agree that they should be fined on one error, but there should a penalty if errors persist. It will make officials more conscious of their calls.
Not Comparable
And I said when a call actually gets overturned, not just when they make a mistake. Calls are very rarely actually overturned. Bad calls are really very common. There’s a huge difference between an overturned call that changes the outcome of a game and a single mistake.
It’s a great idea. It would make refs actually try to do their job and be careful about how they call T’s. Now they know the worst that will happen is the call will get taken off the box score later.
In most jobs you get penalized for your mistakes. In some you readily get fired for them.
one tech foul was cancelled?
No problem. Sheed will make it up real soon

probably tonight
lol because of the horrible sight of troy murphys face..
Doubt he should get fired?
whats that mean exactly?
Either way – if you don’t think Salvatore should get fired consider this.
Officials are supposed to keep peace in the game – keep it even, fair & cool the fire.
How many times have you seen Salvatore make a firey call as if it is the same thing to say, “Technical.” with no emotion or “TECHNICAL!!!!” with a big T symbol right in the players face.
All I can say is – Whether or not the same call would have been made if emotions had to part in it does not matter here.
If someone @ your place of work asked you to finish a report for example.
Hey Joe, could you finish up that report soon? I need it to finish recording my data.
Versus.
JOE – FINISH THAT REPORT NOW!!!
Referees (un-like players) are paid to keep things in line. Not to be part of the jiving, jabbing & trash talking that is part of NBA Players.
So, yes Salvatore should be fired. The guy is clearly bias. Sometimes its for your team – sometimes its against your team. I think every fan of the NBA has at one point seen that Salvatore was officiating there teams game & exclaimed “Oh great, this guy again.”
Happy Holidays
protoypical example
Proves how guys like ‘Sheed, because of the reputation they’ve cultivated, are sometimes treated ridiculously unfairly. It’s a vicious cycle.
