The Celtics just released this statement:

BOSTON, MA - The Boston Celtics announced today that forward Bill Walker has been recalled from the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League.

Walker, a 6'6" forward, appeared in nine games for the Red Claws and was averaging a team-high 17.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game at the time of his recall. In his last game for the Red Claws against Fort Wayne, Walker netted a season-high 33 points on 14-of-17 shooting including 3-of-4 from three point distance.

Glad to have him back. He could provide a little more athleticism and energy off the bench at the wing position.

Last year...

Doc gave him a mere 7 minutes per game.

Apparently, Doc was disgusted by Walker`s terrible FG % {.621}!

Hard to believe we’ll have a log jam at sf with Pierce, Daniels, Tony, Scal at times and Walker. Maybe a trade coming …tony, scal and giddens??

With the injuries to Daniels and Pierce I hope Doc gives Walker some minutes so he can finally show us what he has.

The Celtics are in dire need of a big, strong, athletic small forward who can guard opposing teams big strong, athletic small forwards (who give Pierce and Daniels problems) like Orlando’s Lewis, Phillys AI and Cleveland’s Lebron and Walker may be just the guy to do the job.
