Bug Out
Ray Allen hyper-extended his right thumb but X-Rays were negative.

Tough Break for ray, hopefully he’s fine
Great game for Pierce.
Rondo in with the 2nd unit in the 4th was good and made a huge difference

Any road win
Is a good road win. Good D and playmaking down the stretch. House, Baby & Powe came up big off the bench. Good games from KG & Pierce.

Great run
I think it started toward the end of 3rd into 4th quarter and they kept it. They need to start closing out games like this and we will be in good position.

Hugo the Angry Stubby Stinger Hornet
PP was great, Po was great, but we made some bonehead plays. Grateful for the win but my real anger is over Hugo the Hornet. If you had to watch the game (as I did) via NBA LP and those hideous New Orleans announcers, then you know why I am mad. They showed a clip of Hugo in the stands shoving a pie or cake right into the grill of a cute Celtic girl. He didn’t shove it easy and you could tell it hurt her sexy little nose and lips. She is one of ours and she was assaulted by a fat blue Hornet.
I am guessing he is overcompensating with his anger because he has a short stinger he can’t even see because of his weight. I am writing Stern telling him of this flagrant foul by Hugo the Hornet who may strike again unless he can get a Stinger transplant or lose 40 pounds so he can at least see his stinger.
Great road win.

Dude.
They do that every other game. They’re totally like the Hornets’ poor interns.
Believe me. I’m a season ticketholder. They’re repeat people. I’ve seen the same guy get a beer poured down his pants in 3 different opponent jerseys. So you can sleep easy.

but the strangest thing was
despite the jerseys worn by these fakers, they were all still Celtic fans.

Rondo ought to really practice those elbow jumpers, Hands down the best PG in the league if he were only good, not even great at shooting.

Hornets fan here.
That was a really stupid loss. Doc Rivers had the common sense to put two starters in at the start of the fourth, and it paid off. The blame lies solely on Byron Scott for that. Paul Pierce did what he had to do (even though he flopped like crazy).

The Hornets announcer. . .
was awesome!! First time I’ve ever heard him. What’s his name, Gil something? He was genuinely good. Mixing insightful, professional grade analysis with quality, witty humor. Those Leon “Powe” puns he kept dropping were cracking me up!! Listening to that dude every game must be a joy for you Hornets’ fans.

Gil McGregor, I think
and he’s a healthy reminder that everyone’s got different tastes – I’d say I felt the exact opposite from you on this one, MG. Not a big booster, and the Powe gimmick in particular got old with me in a hurry.
Then again, I use about a thousand synonyms for “Big/Angry Baby” every time I refer to Glen Davis in the Babble…so what goes around comes around, I guess. You can’t please everyone, and I’ve got to admit that Gil’s got style and sounds like he’s enjoying himself.
I’d also guess that I’d probably enjoy him more if I were a Hornets fan. Thanks for brining this up, Metro.

Manuel Aristides Ramirez is the greatest hitter I've ever seen.

You would enjoy him
For a bit… and then his puns would drive you in.sane. He just can’t stay away from them, no matter how cheesy and obvious. That said, about every 20th one is a sidesplitting witty gem. So it’s sort of like monkeys typing Shakespeare, listening to the Hornets announcers.

Wow. I had the opposite reaction.
Those puns were awful.
When Perk was asked what he thought of Howard winning the gold medal this summer, he responded: "What’s his impression of me after I won a ring?"

Haha that’s funny. We say that all the time about Doc who usually loves a bench heavy rotation to start the 4th. I think Ray’s thumb affected the rotation tonight

drawn fouls should be a stat – po seemed to draw 10 in 30 secs – good game.

Yes
I wrote in the game thread last night that there should be a stat of fouls drawn compared to fouls committed — kind of like assist/turnover ratio — and that they should call this stat the Powe Ratio.

if you're going that far...
you should probably combine the player’s free throw percentage in there somehow to show the net effectiveness in terms of drawing fouls (adjusted for non-shooting fouls, and somehow including that drawing non-shooting fouls gets the team into the bonus faster).

House & Powe
Yes, Paul Pierce was amazing tonight, but Eddie & Leon really helped. They had a great stretch to start the 4th quarter. There was some nice interior passing by Baby, and Leon was a beast on the offensive boards.
Also, the team limited their TOs in the 2nd half, after a TO fest in the 1st half. When they don’t turn the ball over, it’s a HUGE difference.

It was rondo and pierce being in there with the bench in the 4th, and rondo specifically getting eddie and leon involved…it must be nice for them to play with an actual PG
