The Sacramento Kings agreed in principle to a deal with the Boston Celtics on Monday night, a league source told ESPN.com. The Celtics will send Sam Cassell and cash to the Kings for a future second-round pick.

Nice to see my username in the headlines lol! It’s just breakfast time over here… :P
I believe Danny will be looking for a big.
hey, you earned it
You had it first in the forums. I’m all for giving credit where it’s due. Good catch and thanks for being on top of things, GW.
Enjoy your Sam-I-Am news with some Cheerios, or whatever your breakfast of champions may be…

lol! thanks :)
It’s Cheerios in fact! Magician! :)
I just just wondering about when Cassell would be activated to play and just googled his name on the news… I am really excited about this because it must indicate that Danny is going to make another move very soon! It’s enough to keep me excited during a boring workday on a normal Tuesday morning! :)
I wish we add a big soon!
Yep, if you thought trade deadline speculation was heating up around here before...
….we’ve seen nothing yet.
I’m curiously awaiting the bandwidth explosion of our trade rumors/ideas board in the forums now. :-D

GOOD
It was getting old not playing him or doing anything with him. I’m sure he’s rusty anyway with not much left in him – pretty sure why they didnt even play him. Kind of just holding him on the side for trade ammo. Who/what is needed a biggg???
confusing…
why is sacramento trading a pick for cassel?
I thought out guys liked having cassel in the locker room and as a coach?
we must be making another move, im excited to see what

They're not trading a pick
The pick is so heavily protected we’ll never get it. For Sac, it’s just a financial move – they get some cash, use some to pay Cassell’s buyout and save the rest.
For the C's
it’s exclusively about opening a roster spot.
protections?
Does anyone know what the protections are for this pick?
I would think that at some point we’d get the pick—>would the league allow the trade of a pick without the ability to move it to the receiving team.
There are definitely moves afoot. Sacramento has 15 players and no room for Cassell unless the Kings make a move. It’s no secret that Salmons and Miller are on the block, and perhaps others.
Maybe part of the deal is that Cassell gets consideration for the Kings’ head coaching job if Natt is not rehired.
The Reason (If This Move Is True)
This move was initiated by Doc. He had some quiet time at home and realized he can no longer take constant chatter of two players. Either Sam or KG had to go. I heard it was KG, but Sam lobbied for the heat of CA so Sam got the gig. Preference was given to age over beauty.
