Celtics New Roster
When KG gets healthy what do you think the Celtics roster should be if we do sign Stephon Marbury. (Don't forget that we did acquire Mikki Moore).
Should we go with a small lineup? Should Marbury be in the starting lineup?
I personally think that he would be most effective off the bench to take some pressure off of the Big Three...so he could come in for either Rondo or R. Allen and get the celtics some quality minutes.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Rondo is better than Marbury
I’ve thought for a very long time that Marbury is a selfish, shoot-first player, and he’s just not good enough to play that way on a team that wants to win a championship. Rondo, on the other hand, is a better passer, better ballhandler, better defender, and better teammate. The only thing Marbury really does better is shoot, but we have Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett for that.

1 thing
theres NO way Marbury will start. BUT what if he has a big game, where he lits it up and Rondo doesnt do so well? Would he make a huge deal about how he should start?

Starters stay the same...
I’m not sure how you would even ponder putting Marbury in the starting lineup, luckily for us that won’t cross Doc’s mind. Same starters…but with a much improved bench.
House and Marbury will now collect all the bench minutes at the 1-2-3 positions. They will play roughly 15 minutes a night each. Rondo, Pierce and Allen will all play just under 40 minutes a night. Pruitt and Walker will be last resort options if there is an injury or foul trouble. However I would not be surprised if Scal comes back, he’s utilized as a 3 in those situations.
As far as the bigs are concerned, Mikki Moore is our 6th big man. Even still, I like the signing because 3 of our big men (kg, perk and scal) have battled injuries all year. So having a little more depth/insurance in the front court is definitely not a bad thing, especially since Davis, Scal and Perk are hackaholics. So Mikki will definitely get minutes from time to time, but he is still our 11th man when Scal is healthy.
Much like Posey and Brown last year, the jury will be out on these signings until the playoffs. At some point, these two guys will have to produce quality minutes at critical times in the playoffs, whether it’s due to injury, suspension or foul trouble. Something will happen and they will be called upon. I’m confident that both of them are more than qualified for the roles they are being asked to fill.
