Doc Misses Sam. Should we expect him back in some capacity?

From the AP review of the c's clips game: "Rivers said he misses Sam Cassell, who was waived by Boston, then by Sacramento and was at the game. "The buses are too quiet and the planes are too quiet," Rivers said." Meanwhile, during Sam's interview on the Clippers broadcast he had nothing but praise for the celtics organization and the players. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Sam back with this team sooner rather than later. a) as part of the coaching staff just to be around with the players b)a fall-back plan if Marbury doesn't pan out (granted, we haven't even signed Marbury yet so who knows). Thoughts?

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

On league pass during a time out the guys who called the game talked with Sam. He refernced having an offer he couldn’t talk about right now…… Who knows..but he seemed a little emotional while talking about his time in Boston……. He wants to be with the C’s. It was very evident

From the Globe today:
Former Celtic Sam Cassell was at last night’s game. Rivers said he would like to add him to the team as an assistant, but Cassell, who was recently traded to Sacramento and was later waived, still wants to play. "I’m still waiting [to hear from a team],’ said the 39-year-old Cassell.

Nice Information, Roy

I think Sam would be an excellent presence on this team, and I would love to see him as an assistant….which also leaves room for him to play if other things that shall not be talked about don’t go so smoothly

Never a huge Sam fan, I will say I’ve been impressed with his attitude since he came aboard—and with his newfound love for the C’s. He sees the light . . . or at least drinks the same kool aid.

As I'll mention in today's Babble,

I thought the conversation with Sam was the highlight of last night’s game. I loved listening to him and would enjoy having him as a part of the organization (especially if it means more interviews).

Good stuff, Slick.
