Pruitt Apologizes
"I sincerely apologize for my actions which have caused unnecessary embarrassment to my family, my team, and the Celtics organization. I used poor judgment and I am really disappointed in myself.
I understand what an extraordinary opportunity it is to play in the NBA and how fortunate I am to be a member of the Celtics.
I am sorry to my team, my family, the fans and everyone who believes in me. I made a mistake and I have learned a valuable lesson."

Free Gabe?
Does this mean the Free Gabe! campaign finally paid off?
As far as I am concerned ...
… apology accepted.
It Really Is A Big Deal
Driving drunk is not a good thing. This doesn’t seem to be Pruitt-like behaviour and I doubt he’ll do it again. Luckily no one was hurt. Maybe we should all thank the Police Officer that caught this.
"I don't come to play, I come to WIN"--Larry Bird
It's something interesting to ponder, anyway...
Do any of us really know what “Pruitt-like behavior” really is? We only know what little we see of him, usually at Celtics games. Maybe the kid is a huge booze hound.

It’s a big deal. Apology accepted and needed. I’ve got little patience with people who want to rationalize away a violation of the law. The law is the law.
With that said, it’s just strike one. Do the crime, do the time and let’s move on.
Boo urns. Drinking and driving, yes, all laws, c’mon, that’s why warnings exist.

from what i hear this has been in the making for a while
i have a friend who is close to the situation, and while this is his first run-in with the law, it sounds like this has been coming for a while. can’t speak for his alcohol habits specifically, but they’ve been concerned about his partying for a while. it will be interesting to see what happens next…
lesson learned
better that he got this offense early in his career… will definitely keep him on his toes from here on
Lesson Learned
This could be a good lesson to all the other young guys.
apology accepted and not needed. By all accounts, he was only drunk by the letter of the law, .08. the law is a result of a reactionary laws being put in place; most of which is forced by pressure from groups like M.A.D.D., who are too emotionally damaged to make any rational decision. i love his game and i hope Doc trusts Gabe enough next year to warrant more playing time.

How do you know what his BAC was?
Or that he wasn’t drunk by your definition, whatever that is?

i don't have a definaition of drunk, but
he wasn’t pulled over for driving erratically. He was apprehended for being suspicious at 3 in the morning. at that point, the cop is going to issue a sobriety test. you’re right that i don’t know his BAC, but with simple logic you can know he was not drunk. he was popped at 3am and was released on bail around 5am. if he was drunk he would not be sober enough to be released at 5am. simple logic.

Gary Payton wouldn't have had to apologize. Being the...
Glove means never having to say your sorry.
Well said Gabe.
When Perk was asked what he thought of Howard winning the gold medal this summer, he responded: "What’s his impression of me after I won a ring?"
Haha. You think Gabe wrote that himself? ;-)

Everyone makes poor decisions, hopefully he’ll use better judgment next time when going out for a drink or two. Him and PP should have a drink off one day, The Truth looks like he can hold his alc hahaha.
