Pistons benching AI?

According to the recap of the DET-ORL game:

Allen Iverson went back to Detroit to see a specialist for his stiff back after an MRI exam Friday came back negative. Detroit coach Michael Curry said Hamilton would have replaced Iverson (in the starting lineup) regardless in an attempt to get the Pistons out of their rut.

I think they should have benched AI from the beginning, but I wonder if his ego will be able to handle it.   It does make me wonder if this is what DET needs to turn their season around.  Having AI come off the bench could be a great punch for their bench.

I hope Ray has his sleeves ready for Rip's fingernails though!

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I think the point of the quote I put in was that they were insinuating that even if he wasn’t hurt, Rip woulda gotten his starting job back.

Worst coach to be 5-1 without AI playing

Maybe, just maybe, AI is the problem why players like Rip and Wallace are not as good this year. That it was Billups that allowed the other pistons to thrive.

but

wallace has been horrible and prince has been really bad plus stuckeys been inconsistent and they have no center

Great decision by the Pistons. It’s about time too, Iverson was always the most natural choice for the 6th man role.
